After attending Albright College and Rutgers University/Livingston College, she received her medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and joined Advocare Atrium Pediatrics in 2004. Prior to joining Advocare Atrium Pediatrics, Dr. Smith-Elfant served as assistant professor of pediatrics at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and as program director of pediatric medical education at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. South Jersey magazine named Dr. Smith- Elfant a "Best Children's Physician" in 2009 and 2010. Married with two daughters, Dr. Smith-Elfant enjoys spinning and has run four marathons, including the Boston Marathon.
