Dr. Stafford Samuel Goldstein, MD

I was told the procedure was simple. No side effects. Nothing to worry about. Got extremely sick from the prep. There has to be a better way.

Dr. Goldstein has outstanding bedside manner, is thorough, and takes time getting to know his patients history. He's been my mothers doctor for several years following her colon resection due to colon cancer. When my primary doctor suggested it was time for my colonoscopy, I was really nervous about it. Dr. Goldstein answered my questions, was very informative and he put me at ease. I did have my colonoscopy last week and all is well. His office is clean, his staff is efficient, and I will recommend him to everyone.

I saw Dr. Goldstein recently for a problem that I've had for over a year. He is so patient and was the first doctor who really listened to me. I feel better already just knowing that he is overseeing my case.

This is the first time I have ever reviewed anything online. I never want anyone to experience the poor level of care I received from Dr. Goldstein, whose practice is easily the worst medical experience I've encountered. Besides having a horrible bedside manner--if you have a gastrointestinal issue he will try to waste your time with psychoanalysis and asks incredibly awkward questions--he makes you feel like a number. I have seen Dr. Goldstein a number of times this month and he is still clueless as to my medical problem and history. You'll wait at least 45 minutes to even see him and then he speaks to you for 5 min, during which time he does not answer any questions or explain your medical condition/diagnosis. He prescribed a drug that is not only known to exacerbate my preexisting symptoms but is also expressly never is to be used by someone with bone-wasting disease, which I verbally had told him about & wrote about on my forms. He neither seems knowledgable nor prepared for… appointments- he wastes your time because he/his staff forget to obtain outsourced lab work or medical records prior to your visit. I will say that he and his staff are nice people. But they're also pretty incompetent.

Dr. Stafford Goldstein is an outstanding Gastroenterologist who also possesses a great bedside manner and professional acumen. He quickly and successfully diagnosed me with having a late Stage III (C2 Lesion) colon cancer back in 1995, and then put me in contact with the right oncologist and the right thoracic surgeon to successfully and effectively treat me. Through Dr. Goldstein's attention to detail and his knowing of what to do, his correct diagnosis and quick actions literally saved my life. With a prognosis of only a 5% chance to live five years, Dr. Goldstein's bias for action and professionalism has allowed me live eighteen years and six months without incident and in great health. I highly recommend Dr. Goldstein to anyone who is experiencing gastrointestinal medical issues.

My primary care doctor recommended another doctor but said, because I would have an easier time getting an appointment quickly, I should see Dr. Goldstein. This was a big mistake! Dr. Goldstein failed to inform me of serious diagnostic results for 3 weeks. He appeared to have little concern for health and was very laid back. So was his staff! For more than one diagnostic test performed by another doctor, they failed to give my insurance company accurate or complete information. This cost me weeks of time. I am now seeing the other doctor (my primary care doctor's first choice) and would not recommend Dr. Goldstein to anyone.

Goldstein accurately diagnosed my condition however he prescribed me 4 different types of drugs. 2 of those drugs contradicted each other. I feel he is more tuned to deal with elderly patients. The staff was friendly. I ended up leaving this doctor to see a new gastroenterologist who is patient oriented.
