Dr. Stanley Golovac, MD

Dr. Golovac does not demonstrate empathy for his patients and that trait is exacerbated by the assembly line treatment process of his practice. He schedules too many patients or procedures, including scheduling more than one patient in the same appointment time, so he has only a few moments to spend with his patients. His outpatient surgery center is reminiscent of a factory assembly line where speed is of the utmost importance. Also, the outpatient surgery center seems to be set up to use the most complicated and needless procedures in order to generate the most fees rather than focused on patient care. But that seems to be the ways medicine is delivered under Obama care. The medical and support staff are what makes the center worth while as they are usually very friendly and attentive, although they show the stress of seeing so many patients each day.

This guy told me that Dr. Dell who is the head of hand surgery at Shands UF does not know what he is doing or talking about. He also accused my PCP(of 28 years by the way), of things I shall not mention. Yes, he does have some sort of God complex. He actually told me he was going to reboot my nervous system and that in 18 months my nerve would grow back.....um...incredibly wrong. Nerves MAY, I said MAY, grow back but at a rate of 1 CM per year/years depending on your age. At 50 and with a almost dead ulnar nerve that has only gotten worse over the past 10 years, I have what you might call a snowballs chance. It is what it is and I have gotten somewhat used to the situation. Aside from shooting my dead fingers accidentally with a nail gun here and there and not even knowing it, I have learned to deal with it. He would not listen to a word I said when I tried to tell him what was going on and made the judgement that I was a pill popper. He did not even have my chart which is quite… lengthy and was only interested in his own opinion of what my troubles were. I don't even drink due to the fact that I am on medication! He is an arrogant jerk and told me he would not prescribe ANYTHING for me until I have exhausted all of his so called remedies....gee I wonder how much that would cost...?! I unfortunately have lots of issues but he wanted to address them one at a time with no medication. I wonder if doctor wonderful knows what living with chronic pain is actually like? I concur with the idea on another review of good and bad days for sure! I have had days where I crawl to the bathroom and days where I can actually wash and wax the car.... I was a hockey player in my youth and am not a big guy so I got pounded. I have also been a working contractor for 30 years, I know what pain is and how to deal with it. All he wants is money for procedures that are frowned upon in the medical field or have been shown NOT to work WAY more times then they do. Do not waste either your time or your money. There will be NO follow up visit!

I booked to have accuroscope back surgery through a bigger company and was referred to Dr.Golovac . He went against basic protocol and didn't diagnose where my pain was first and operated on me pretty much blindly . There was no post meeting with surgeon . Just somebody who knew I had surgery . I had to ask for surgery report . Then I had 3 months of pure agony . My back was 10 times worse then before . My calls were ignored from his clinic when I left messages because I could hardly walk . I was lied to by him . The company I booked through basically cut ties with him over my case and offered to operate on me again free of charge by a better qualified doctor . This guy is arrogant and has zero care for patients when things go wrong . STAY AWAY FROM HIM !! I wish I could give lower then 1 star because I would .

It's all about ego and money.

The worst doctor I have ever seen. He did a nerve ablation on me which is looked down apon in the medical field. He made my condition way worse , the pain was horrible. After the procedure he would not see me anymore due to him making my pain worse. Once he has your money he does not care. Do not see this doctor he is very money hungry and arrogant.

Dr Golovac has a God complex and is very cold and uncaring. He did a procedure on me n I woke up in a lot of pain n he didnt care n sent me home without meds, next day my husband brought me back becasue the pain was so bad and I was told that I was exaggerting my pain n he still wouldnt write anything for pain. I had to find another pain Dr to see me and finally found out that my procedure had gone wrong and have had a few corrective procedures but, found out that my back is permanatly damaged.. Never met a Dr that is so uncaring and I should have filed a law suit for lack of care and mal practice.. Be Ware

Dr. Golovac was a true godsend. He always took his time with me and listened to my needs. I had to move away and have seen 4 different doctors. None of them even compare to Dr. Stan. I'll be moving back to Florida sometime in the future. I will definitely get back into his office when I return.

I was referred to Dr. Golovac for pain in my back and legs (as well as continued incisional pain) after giving birth to my daughter via c section. I was in agony and in tears during my visit. At first he was nice and listened. He treated me with a facet injection. Several hours after I was in severe pain. My husband called his office and they told me to go to the emergency room as there was nothing they could do. I was in so much pain I could barely walk. The er doctor told me he had a similar reaction to the injection years ago and to follow up with Dr Golovac. Which I did the next day. Dr Golovac however wouldnt even listen to me and told me the reaction I had wasnt even possible and I must still be hormonal and there was nothig he could do for me He was completely wrong about my MRI results and very mean and condescending. He missed several things in his diagnosis includig fibromyalgia.He treated me like I was crazy and did nothing to treat my pain. He acted like a different person… from one appt. to the next one. I went to him for help and was treated horribly. I had never been to a pain management doctor before. Luckily I was referred to someone else who actually cares. Golovac is a nightmare.

I have read the reviews on here about Dr. Golovac and I have to say that my experience has been nothing less than professional from Dr. Golovac and his staff. I actualy was shocked when I recieved my lab bill from my intial visit (wish they would have used a lab that was not as exspensive) however with that being said, you get what you pay for and I for one am pleased that Dr. Golovac is not quick to dish out pain meds to his patients. I had been to my PCP, chiropractor and to the ER on several occasions before going to Dr. Golovac and each of those doctors were not able to give me any relief, PCP and ER doctors gave me pain meds and it did not relieve my pain completely so I was relieved when I left from my first visit with Dr. Golovic because it was the first time in 6 months that I felt as if there was hope for my pain because Dr. Golovic realy listened to my concerns and he was the only doctor that took the time to explain to me why the pain meds did not give me total relief from… the pain that I was suffering with. As for the doctor leaving his staff to explain what is going to go on, well I find that to be very common at any doctor's office (and any time that I have wanted to speak directly with Dr. Golovic he has always taken the time to listen and answere my questions and put me at ease), I feel most confident in all of the staff that I have encountered at Space Coast Pain Institute and am very thankful that they have been able to help me. Thanks for all that you and your staff do!
