Dr. Stanley Melvin Hertz, MD

I have know Dr. Herz for many years. He is genuinely caring and has been very helpful.

I was a patient of Dr Hertz for over 6 years. In the time I’ve known him he was able to get my medication correct initially, but has not given any authetic true insight since. I’m also a mental health professional and he shows zero care for anyone’s life concerns. He charges so much for a 2 minute session where he stares at the computer and writes a prescription. Any question i asked he had to look up in a book. When I was severely depressed he gave up trying to find a new medication and took me off everything. But continued to complain about my balance of money owed, even when he knew I had a medical condition and extenuating circumstances. Some people should never go into the mental health field.

Dr. hertz is a throwback to the days when Doctors had integrity and compassion. He genuinely cares about his patients and he is truly an ethical and very sweet man. I totally trust his abilities as a Doctor and highly recommend him

It's pretty clear Dr. Hertz had people come here and write phony reviews. He is a nightmare that patients only visit because he take insurance and most psychopharmacologists do not. He overmedicated my child. He was sued for malpractice in Queens County for precisely the same thing- overmedicating. Check his record of lawsuits. Then pay for the others and be thankful you didn't put finances over your child's health.

I love that Dr Hertz really looks at the needs of the patient and does not immediately go to over-medicating. He does things slowly and consciously, with the goal to make the patient as comfortable and functional as possible. I really appreciate that type of treatment and my teen likes him very much.

I wouldn't trust my health with anybody else. He is kind, caring, compassionate, active listener who will work with you to find the medication that helps you best. I wouldn't want to see a practitioner that doesn't follow up at least monthly.

Dr. Hertz has a kind and caring bedside manner, he returns phone calls promptly and I have never had a problem getting an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. This ease a appointment scheduling extends to emergency appointments as well. Last summer I had to see him once a week for 6 weeks and I had no trouble making appointments that worked around my work or life schedule. Even in my most manic moments, his office is a place where I feel safe and his integrity as a doctor and professional is tangible.
