Dr. Stanley Hirst, DDS
 Dr. Stanley Hirst was born in Michigan as the youngest of four with family ties to Flasher, ND. He graduated from Pacific Union College in 1977.  It was soon after college that he became interested in helping people with their dental health problems when a family friend told him of his missionary dental trips to Mexico. Dr. Hirst attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and received his DDS in 1982. He met his wife Jane, while she was attending school at Loma Linda for Dietetics and her Masters degree in public health.  They married and returned to her hometown. He has been serving the dental needs of the community families in Minot, ND since 1983. He provides a wide range of dental services to adults and children. Dr. Hirst has three grown children of his own. The oldest went on to become a dentist and joined Broadway Family Dentistry. His middle daughter is in Berkeley, CA pursuing a PhD in Statistics, and his youngest son is studying at St. …Olaf College in Northfield, MN. His wife, Jane Hirst is currently teaching Nutrition at Minot State University. Dr. Hirst enjoys motorcycles, airplanes and playing tennis.
In his 28 years of practice, Dr. Hirst has been active in continuing education taking courses in orthodontics, esthetic/cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He is currently pursuing a series of courses at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute in Neuromuscular Dentistry. These courses focus on the relationship between the jaw and tooth positions and chronic headaches and facial pain. Joint pain, face pain, headaches are related indirectly to teeth 90% of the time.  Dr. Hirst has seen success in relieving some of these chronic conditions in patients that have been suffering with these symptoms for years. He is also looking to gain more experience and knowledge on sleep apnea and its relationship to dentistry as it has significant medical complication if left untreated. Dr. Hirst has been an active ADA and NDDA member since 1983 and attends annual meeting of the Academy of General Dentists. He is enthusiastic about the addition of Dr. Jensen to Broadway Family Dentistry and feels the new building will allow their dental team to provide optimal care for the people of Minot. Dr. Hirst is looking forward to seeing you at our new location as Broadway Family Dentistry.
