Starla Diane Maier-Walford

I received my degree in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University in 1999. After practicing for five years with 5,000 direct hours in hand therapy, I tested and received my Certified Hand Therapy credential in 2004. Hand therapy combines knowledge of the physical structures of the body with functional analysis of everyday activities, and the credential must be renewed by continuing education and direct patient care every five years. I have dedicated my career exclusively to treating the upper limb, including the finger, hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder girdle.

I enjoy treating a variety of injuries, including fractures, amputations, tendon lacerations, chronic pain syndromes, and nerve disorders. My continuing education courses range from manual therapy techniques, splinting and orthotic fabrication, to handwriting intervention.
