Dr. Stella Bard, MD

I met Dr Bard when she was assigned to a relatives care back when she was a medical intern. She was outstanding-how many interns will bother with really sick patient when their supervisors have had it , and the hospital is pushing for discharge? Dr. bard proved herself then, again and again to be compassionate, smart and decent. Some years later when I was referred to her I had no reason to change my initial assessment. She is a warm and caaring person, has integrity, is very really smart and informed and cares about diagnosing correctly. I had been misdiagnosed with RA and Dr Bard refused to prescribe without a specific need. Tests and time proved her instinct correct. She is a really good doctor, completely trustworthy. This was a few years ago, so I can't speak to her office setup or staff.

Dr. Bard is honestly such a caring doctor. She is truly concerned about her patient's health and wellbeing. She is currently on vacation, yet she is extremely responsive to my emails to address my concerns and help with my treatment — no other doctor will do this. She will take your concerns into consideration when planning your treatment. Her team is great as well; the nurses, her students, everyone at the front desk. They will try their best to provide you with all the support you need. I recommend giving her a visit if you need someone for rheumatology.

Dr Bard has not only become my doctor, but she has become a TRUE lifesaver. I had come to her with so little left in me. I had been from doctor to doctor for decades and no one ever seem to want to put in the time and effort to try and figure out what was really wrong with me. I am not a typical patient. I don’t have the typical background and test results that other doctors have done in the past, which was basically, usually the bare minimum. I was suffering in silence for a very long time and had given into the pain, the depression, the limitations and everything in between. When I started seeing her at 33-34 years old, I had given up on being able to work, have children, or have anything that even resembled a “normal“ life. I felt as though there was no one that would ever understand me or take the time out to try and truly help me. I had even had drs try and convince me that this was something in my head, or that it had to do with injuries that I had has sustained as a young girl.… I had had surgeries, medications, etc, and doctors just kept sending me from one to the other trying to put Band-Aids on situations that could never actually help me. Dr. Bard took the time out, visit after visit, testing after testing, trying to at least get to the root of my problem. And I am by far not a typical patient, in the sense that my test results aren’t entirely straightforward. It took a lot of digging, and tests that I had never done before in the decades of my medical history. She knew she had to break out the big guns, if she was ever going to help me. And she never faltered. She never gave up on me. She saw me as someone who needed help, and she was never going to give up on me and I knew that. I felt her support and empathy and resolve, and she was really trying to find a way for my life to seem worth something to me again. Even at times when I started to feel vaguely better, she always strived for more and to make me feel even better than that. I will never be able to truly thank her enough for everything that she has done for me. Her patience and wherewithal alone, made me feel as though I had the best possible advocate in my corner. That alone is priceless Being someone who has these kinds of medical problems, and I know there are a lot of people (with varying degrees) out there, it can seem so hopeless or helpless. Please know that someone marvelous truly exists out there. And if you're will to take the time to see her and trust in her skills, I truly believe she can help. I will never be able to thank her enough.

I recently saw Dr. Bard and I am so glad I did. She took her time with me and asked a lot of questions. The prescription she gave me has helped me deal better with the pain that comes from fibromyalgia. I really was not able to function at all. I urge anyone reading this to give yourself and her a chance to get better by going to see her. Well worth your time. Also, I did not have to wait a long time in the office before seeing her. She is a godsend. Thank you Dr. Bard!

Dr. Stella Bard should have 10 gold stars. She is truly amazing. She cares so much. It’s not hi bye. She gets to know you. It means so much to have a dr. Like her. I would recommend over and over again. She makes me want to go to my doctors visit!!!!

I highly recommend Dr. Stella Bard. I would not change her for any other Reumotoligist. Even my doctors that never met her tells me they can tell she knows her stuff just by seeing the blood work she ordered on me. They are very happy I am in more than good hands with Dr. Bard. I highly recommend Dr. Stella Bard. She also has 2 staff who are awesome and caring. They moved to a new location so make sure you get new address when you make appointment. God bless Dr. Bard. I have been seeing Dr. Bard for over a year and I have never met a more caring and professional person. She has always gone above and beyond for me. Even texting me on her days off to check in and answer my questions. She is a gem and so is her staff. I’m very lucky to have found them

i cannot understand how it's possible to write negative about Dr. Bard, i have been her patient for over 12 years i always felt that there is something special about her, always kind and caring, always trying to help with all her heart and soul, i never met a doctor so caring and understanding, she is very knowledgeable and smart and really trying to help as the best of her ability.

Absolutely Terrible! Disorganized office, multiple text messages switching appointments, and a disturbingly unapologetic doctor who should not be trusted with anyone's health. Two of my appointments have been cancelled. I spoke directly with the dr herself, who took zero accountability and told me to find another dr...the day before my appointment. I will be registering a complaint with the NYS Board of health about her unethical behavior.
