Dr. Stephani Jane Amstadter, MD

Everything the other bad reviews say, I believe 100%. I have never had a doctor make me feel like I was a waste of their time or that I was stupid for asking if this little red spot on my chest looked suspicious. She puts a lot of effort into dressing up for the day, but clearly hates her job and her patients. I was sent to her by my insurance plan, and after a couple of years I changed providers because I should not ever feel like I dread another visit with a doctor. The spot I asked her to look at, she merely glanced at while walking past me, flippantly said it’s not cancer and gave me some cream which only inflamed it more. Fast-forward three years and that spot has quadrupled in size. I saw a competent doctor who referred me to dermatology to confirm, and it is in fact cancerous. If you are a patient of this doctor, I strongly recommend you either quit, or get a second opinion on serious health concerns. She is mentally unwell and doesn’t care at all about her patients. Fortunately… my cancer is slow growing and shallow, but I have to wonder how many others have had their concerns brushed off and ended up in much worse shape because of it.

Tells you exactly how it is and what can help your own specific situation or body. I saw her days before I found out she left BFMA - if anyone finds out where she works next please spread the word!!!! I’ve seen two or three doctors as an adult and dr Amstadter is THE BEST. Straight forward and very personable and funny and just GREAT! I love her so much I hope I can find where she is practicing next.

I switched to dr amstedhers care along with my husband 5 years ago and she has been nothing but respectful and sweet to me. I have very sensitive random issues during these years and she attended all of them with the utmost seriousness and detailed exam. I have in different occasions even told her how much I appreciate her since I have been to primary physicians that don’t even come close or touch you for examination just talk. She made me feel very comfortable when I started questioning some of the medications I am on and gave different data and examples from her experience. I am very sad that she left BELLEVUE family medicine and have every intention to follow her to whenever she starts practicing again

Dr. Amstadter has been my primary care provider for approximately three years. I found her to be astute, perceptive, caring and thoughtful. Her recent departure from Bellevue Family Medicine grieves me. Regrettably I’m constricted by protocol in the interest of privacy protection from being privy as to the circumstances of Dr. Amstadter’s unexpected departure. While researching where she might have relocated her practice, a search engine directed me to this Vitals website. I’m shocked and dismayed by some of the comments and reviews left here with respect to Dr. Amstadter. It has never been my practice to post a review or comment on any website or other social media forum. I’m making an exception here to counter the vitriolic, negativity I’ve read in some of the other reviews. While trying to remain sensitive toward the position of the reviewer, given my experience with Dr. Amstadter, I can’t help feeling that at best a misunderstanding had occurred. At worst, the truthfulness… of the comment is highly suspect. My hope is that someone considering Dr. Stephanie Amstadter as their PCP will gain a more accurate perspective of what to expect under her care. As a divorced father of two in his late ‘50’s who had been neglectful in his health, not being diligent in having, regular physical exams, I must tell you, I’m alive today thanks to Dr. Amstadter. Hypertension, high blood pressure, stress, anxiety and a myriad of other serious health issues, were quickly, thoroughly and compassionately diagnosed and mitigated by her prescriptions, referrals for tests and follow up with specialists. My good health and well being today are directly attributed to the counsel and care of Dr. Stephanie Amstadter. Dr. Amstadter’s intuitiveness is on display in the specificities of her questioning, her attuned listening and detailed diagnosis. Her frankness and straightforward approach in companion with her well disposed demeanor was appreciated. Dr. Amstadter’s gift for maximizing the quality of the visit, given the insurance mandated time allotment, in no way whatsoever subdued her genuine care. Honestly, I found her to be very generous in that respect. Her thoughtfulness and insight regarding my familial relationships, my struggle and success not only physically but mentally and spiritually were above and beyond the expected and beyond appreciated. Her honesty, advice and friendship will be dearly missed. If you are researching care providers and have the opportunity to elect as your choice Dr. Amstadter, I wholeheartedly endorse that decision!

Dr Amstadter is highly intelligent and doesnt waste time with superfluous wording. Her prowess at Direct communication is clear. Dissapointed to hear they have left the medical practice I am a patient at. I expect good treatment and healthier patients will follow her where ever she ends up.

I think Dr Amstadter is great. I realize the clientele in a major city might be more sensetive to direct communication and an unflappable demeanor. If you want someone to hold ypur hand through the process, download a dating app and start swiping. I dont want nor should my doctor be too emotionally invested in my treatment. This ruins their ability to remain objective. If anything my complaint about Dr. Amstadter is she seems overqualified perhaps too intelligent for her work. It would seem that people want a counselor with a touch of medicine, rather than a bright and experienced mind to look after your health.

Been going to Dr. Amstadter for 3 years. It is time for a change. She has poor bedside manner and comes across very opinionated often not in favor of the patient, not very warm and friendly, and generally cold and not empathetic. She also conducts annual physicals via checklist rather than exam. Last appt with her she was crying because she complained to me that the practice policy was contrary to what she believed.

No need to reiterate what everyone else is posting. Just avoid.
