Dr. Stephanie Akbari, MD, FACS

Not sure how how’s she getting all these great reviews, our experiences have been far from that, to say the least.

I have been with Dr. Akbari since 2012. Would highly recommend her. Had surgery and everything went great!

Dr Akbari is up to date on all the newest cancer protocols. She treats you like an individual who gets her full time,attention,and all the best treat ments available.

Dr. Akbari has been my doctor for almost 9 years. When I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, she was the one Dr of all the opinions I received, that understood that I didn't want to wake up every day wondering if that was the day I would find a lump in my other breast. She was supportive and understood completely. A few weeks later when I tested positive for the BRCA gene, we knew we were in the right path. She has been kind, supportive and compassionate over the years. When you feel lumps and bumps or pain after surgery, chemo and radiation....your mind always goes to a reoccurrence. She and her team have always been calm and reassuring while looking for medical evidence to explain what is going on. She was the first member of my team, when I started this journey and for that I am incredibly grateful. I have referred countless newly diagnosed women to her....and all are in agreement. She is a bright spot during a dark and scary time.

I met with Dr Akbari because I read she was the best in the area; she has done my screenings on several occasions and I trust her completely. No patient is alike, we are individuals with individual needs. Dr. Akbari understands this concept!

Dr. Akbari is an intelligent and compassionate doctor. I have been her patient for 7 years from my diagnosis, lumpectomy surgery, post surgical care, and 6 years of follow-up appointments. I never feel like she is rushing me. One thing special she did, which was very touching, is she gave me a small pink paisley pillow her mother had sewn. This was such a lovely thought and really helped during recovery. I have passed this pillow on to other breast cancer patients who have needed it after surgery, and I, of course, shared the story of Dr. Akbari's mother sewing pillows for her daughter's patients.

I saw another breast surgeon first but and went to Dr. Akbari after I lost confidence in that doctor. Should have seen Dr. Akbari first. I got right in for an appointment and she did surgery within days. She was compassionate about my experience with the first doctor, but she presented me with facts and was very confident in her recommendations and preferred course of action. I could have saved myself two weeks of anguish if I had gone to Dr. Akbari first.

Dr. Akbari is an outstanding doctor/surgeon. She is thorough, straightforward, and provides a plan of action when additional care or followup is necessary. The office staff is professional, caring and responsive. I consider myself very fortunate to be under Dr. Akbari's care.
