Dr. Stephanie Louise Broughton, DO

Stephanie is the most caring doctor I have ever come across. I had pain for years and even went to ER on multiple occasions and they would run test and come back with nothing. Stephanie actually listened to what I was telling her and finally sent me for a CT scan and I ended up having multiple gallstones. I am forever grateful to her for this. She is a wonderful doctor.

Dr. Broughton was my family's doctor for almost 20 years. We never had any problems with her until the last few years. I went to her for a rash on my face and explained what I thought it could be based on my research and symptoms. She told me it was likely something else because of my age and she prescribed me medication for what she thought it was. This prescription made the rash worse so we tried something else. I understand that the first diagnosis isn't always perfect and I didn't have a huge problem with trying something else, but this also didn't work. I went to a dermatologist and finally found something that cleared it up. A few weeks later I went back to Dr. Broughton for a sprained wrist and she had someone shadowing her during my appointment. She noticed my face had cleared up so, without confirming anything with me, she proceeded to tell the shadower what she had diagnosed and prescribed for my face. I had to cut her off and explain that she had been wrong and I had been to… a dermatologist who listened to me and correctly diagnosed the rash. Other members of my family have also experienced a lack of communication, unwillingness to listen, misdiagnoses, and harmful prescriptions by Dr. Broughton. My main problem with this doctor is that she seems much too eager to quickly diagnose and prescribe. She doesn't take the time to listen to or consider the symptoms presented and she doesn't follow up. I haven't been back to see her for the past couple years, but my family continued to see her until recently. They have also finally had enough of her carelessness and are switching doctors. Their decision is what inspired me to write this review. I think Dr. Broughton could definitely improve if she tried, but I haven't seen it and won't wait for it.

I LOVE Dr Broughton. She has taken great care of my family for many years. She is very thorough, doesn’t rush through visits. She sit down and explains and discusses your issues. Very good with my elderly mother. Only downside is that she isn’t there full time.

She seems thorough, never in a hurry. Explains information in plain English so I can understand. A great doctor.
