Only if you want basic health care. Very disrespectful and demeaning. I came to Dr. Burleson for care of a chronic illness. At the time of care with her my illness had severely disabled me: unable to walk more than 20 ft, not able to use stairs, shower chair, shaved head because I couldn't lift my arms to clean/style my hair, failing college assignments from brain fog. I was expecting an advocate in my health who would see me as a person. That is not what I experienced. Also important to note is I have medical PTSD from dealing with aggressive care providers. My first visit with the Dr, she came in 20 min late to our visit time, during that time I heard Stephanie Burleson casually talking to a nurse in the hall and mentioned to the nurse how her next patient is only a college student so she has free time, assuming I wouldn't complain about the short appointment time. Surprise surprise I couldn't explain my chronic illness fully in 15 minutes, she was also rushing me which wouldn't be… necessary if she just gave me the time I scheduled, i ended up rescheduling and paying for another appointment with her. I should of fired her then, but I was truly desperate for health care. At the second appt (mind you it takes extreme effort on my part to make it to appts. because of my disabilities) she spent the first half of the appointment saying she wanted to help me and work with me ect, ect, but at the end of the visit she didn't schedule any appointments to specialists I NEEDED, lastly she wouldn't accept my complete medical history printed out and organized for her from varying hospital groups. Instead she insisted on putting in 7 different requests for my records and continued then to explain how acquiring these records would take months so she can't schedule any appts or tests or give me treatment until she can review my information. This should've been a huge red flag that this provider is after my insurance money and has no interest in actual care for my health, but I was truly in a desperate state of confusion as a young college student who's health felt like it was falling apart and no one had answers. So I left that appointment with no true help and returned to my life of disability. It took me a couple months but I found support elsewhere, got specific therapy, and realized this doctor was dragging me down. She continued to collect on my insurance money by scheduling telephone calls I have no memory of taking place, so I made an appointment to stop care. At the last appointment before me explaining that I no longer wanted to see her, she explained that she got some of my records but not all and now months later she still isn't 'ready' to do anything with my case (though i'm severely disabled she doesn't seem to see a problem) then preceded to give me the number of functional medicine doctors told me to pay for them out of pocket for my chronic health condition and see her for basic health care. I don't know what delusional world she lives in where she thought I would agree but with help from therapy and facing my PTSD I told her as calmly as I could that I have no interest in having any healthcare from her again and will find a different PCP within the same network that is actually competent. After that she turned warmer and actually asked about my personal life for the first time since being her patient building human connection! My new PCP didn't give up though and sent me to two specialists before my 5 year chronic health condition was diagnosed. I am now living a quality of live far above what I even imagined I could recover too. I write this as a warning for anyone with a serious condition that needs immediate help and not lazy labor. I almost didn't take the time to revisit my feelings with this doctor but had to share for the health of other patients. I don't want another young female to feel as trapped and unhelped as I was, especially in a place where you can't physically or mentally advocate for yourself as well as you normally would without a health condition.

Dr Burleson is my primary and I can say that if you want a Dr who is honest with you she is the doctor for you. She's attentive with your concerns. I've been very pleased and I've never felt like she was in a rush. She can be brutally honest but that's what I love about her the most. THANK YOU DR BURLESON, I APPRECIATE YOU.

My primary for four years. She listens and addresses my concerns with her full attention during my appointments.
