Dr. Stephanie Gwen Calkins, MD

Horrible wait time; acts like she cares about you but really only cares about her image. She’s the ‘face of Maine General’ - the worst hospital in New England. A pill pusher, a by-the-book, you’re a patient not a person type. Avoid avoid.

My mother had a very suspect looking spot on her back and she showed it to Dr. Calkins, who said she was not concerned. My mother pushed back and advocated for a dermatology referral. Thank goodness she did, because it turned out to be melanoma, the most dangerous and fast spreading form of skin cancer. Because of Dr. Calkins slow action, my mom wasn't able to get in to the dermatologist for around 6 months. Melanoma has been known to spread to other parts of the body in that amount of time. Though the cancer has been removed, it was quite deep and painful. She was told to keep an eye on her lymph nodes because there is the potential for re-occurrence. Because of this incident and others, I don't trust Dr. Calkins to do what is best; I will be trying to convince my mother to switch doctors.

She has Munchausen by Pediatric Syndrome for Profit. Dogs get better treatment. Forced Psych. Drugging under threat and coercion of my child. I was threatened in her office by Dr. Fine they would take my child from me if I didn't agree with the OVERDOSE prescription of psych. drugs on my little child. They never did any thorough testing on my child and it turned out to be a PINWORM infection. All the signs of a Pinworm infection from the school, not Psych. or mental health issues. She's nasty..... and Terrified me and my child!!! Misdiagnoses, medical abuse.... Record all medical appointments and as a parent you have a right to say NO!!! NO means NO!!!

She has Munchausen by Pediatric Patient Syndrome. She forced psych. meds on my child under threat an coercion or I would have my child taken away. My child had a pinworm infection. All the signs of a pinworm infection and she said it was ADHD and Tourettes. She is sick and should be in Jail. The damage she did to my child is inexcusable. The suffering she caused my child is no less than Medical Maltreatment. She is a child abuser as far as I am concerned. She medical abused my whole family and misdiagnosed my child for "Years" this went on. Constant followup appointments to feed her money. My child was so abused at school as well and she did nothing to help!!! She should be ashamed of herself. No apology from her either. We said no to psych meds!! NO MEANS NO! She refused to help my child when my child had Strep Throat as well. Clear symptoms of strep throat. She is a disaster. Give psych. meds to your own kids nasty women.

I was suffering from Lyme Disease and she had the opportunity to treat me with antiodics to be on the safe side, instead she told me "American's Want Answers"! Six years of suffering and Lyme Disease advancing I finally find a doctor who takes me serously, tests me correctly Positive for Lyme and now under long term treatment! What a slap in the face to be told "American's Want Answers" by her! I bet she didn't dictate that! She caused me years of pain and suffering!
