Needs more training in taking care of patients

My regular doctor sent me to the Fairview ER for a test. He indicated that there was a possibility that they would want to admit me. He also said he was going to call the ER Doctor and explain what was needed. I got to the ER about 45 minutes later and was still made to wait for another 1 1/2 hours before even being able to get into the ER.My whole problem with Stephanie Conwell is the major chip she seemed to have on her shoulder. Let me be clear, I could care less if someone is in a lousy mood until and unless it starts effecting their work. To be fair she may have simply been having a bad day. What is not fair is that I should have been treated with so little regard or respect because this doctor was having a major attitude problem. I saw her for maybe 2 minutes when I first arrived. After my test results were complete, she apparently decided to admit me to the hospital without even consulting with me about this. Not a word! In fact I was only informed about this decision… some time after the fact when another doctor came in to ask me some questions and mentioned rather matter of factly "you do know you have been admitted right?" When I asked to see her to answer some questions, I was made to wait another 1 1/2 hours. It was only when I threatened to get up and walk out of the hospital that she rather belatedly came by my room - accompanied by two nurses and two orderlies no less - and responded to my very reasonable questions like she was talking to a three-year-old.In the end, she diagnosed me with a severe condition when in reality my condition was a minor one. Her justification for admiting me was based on this poor diagnosis. "Officially" this is called a "difference of medical opinion". Unofficially, I call it a Doctor who gets in a crappy mood and then fails to give her patients the level of care and attention they deserve. The only reason I would ever Return to Fairview Hospital is to extract someone I care about who made the mistake of going there in the first place. Who knows? If you catch her in a good mood maybe she's a very competent physician. I however, do not care to place my health in the hands of someone who's performance is based upon their emotional state. My advice, look elsewhere for care.
