Dr. Stephanie Jane Cummings, MD

Went to see her for IUD removal since other doctors I desired were not available and her reviews were ok. She tried but could not remove my IUD even with Ultrasonic available stating normal, but caused me bleeding and swelling for days, feeling bad. I would not blame her if she just gave up when she thought she could not do it for whatever reason. The last thing doctors want to do is to cause any unnecessary damage to patients. I wish I had told her to stop during the process. I also have doubts about her recommendation of splitting one visit for two due to insurance reimbursement reason (I actually have very good insurance). Overall, billing at SMG is unbelievably high (not her fault). To be reasonable, her bedside manner is not bad. However, what I look into doctors most is their expertise, experience and efficiency. I hope she will proceed with more care in the future.

Amazing doctor! She went above and beyond to keep my baby and me safe during my pregnancy. She takes her time and really cares.

I saw dr. Cummings as a new patient I liked her very much, very professional and take good time to explain everything and not rushing . I will recommend her to everyone .

New patient to her group at SMC. Went for consultation after ultrasound was iffy. Blood work came back in portal that I have an anti-body that could cause complications in pregnancy . She never told me this until I asked. Wrote an email advising I was upset & wanted more info. Had nurse call me to say she won't speak to it until she knows current pregnancy is viable . Googled it , realized a simple blood test on my husband can ease all worries if he is neg for antigen . Confirmed by perinatal Dr. A layperson could have told me this . Also , nurse Mary Ellen is terribly insensitive . Pregnancy lost. Told by Dr. That I have to call every morning to see if they can take me for D&C. So now I can't move on because I need to be scheduled , well i have to schedule myself !

Dr. Cummings is an excellent doctor. She is thorough physician and I always leave satisfied. She shows that she careshould and assures me when I have a doubt. All the physicians/staff in the Berkeley heights ob/gyn office are awesome people. Definitely recommend!
