Truly the best decision I’ve made in 55 years of living

Hartselle is not only clearly very intelligent and experienced, but also kind and compassionate. Although she is very quick to use medication, which is her training and the reason one would choose to see a psychiatrist, she is also open and encouraging of non-pharmacological approaches to mental and emotional health. I don’t agree with everything she says but I consider her to be an excellent partner in assessing and treating the life challenges that I am currently dealing with. Highly recommended!

Really knows both psychiatry and medicine. Listens and cares. I haven't found a therapist like this before.

What I love about Dr. Hartselle is the fact that she DOES communicate with all of my specialists. She calls them, checks all of my medications, explains her reasoning behind starting one medication instead of another. I can't imagine being upset with her when she is attempting to make sure my medications are safe, don't interact and are all known by every doctor I see. To me, that is a person who cares. It seems like the last person was upset to be called out on lying about a medication and an addiction problem. I feel sorry for her and her drug habit. I hope she realizes that doctors can very easily not know what you are taking and mix a deadly combination. That's why I trust Dr. Hartselle.

At first, I loved Dr. Hartselle. She would listen to me, understand, and helped me tremendously. She even helped me to get into a day treatment program at Butler Hospital. At the same time I was seeing her, I started to see a doctor for Suboxone because of opiate addiction. I didn't disclose this to her right away. She ended up checking my medications on the stage database and saw the prescription for Suboxone. She then proceeded to ask me about it and of course I said yes. She got extremely upset and treated me like a child. She had me leave a urine sample for drugs at her office and said "well Heather what am I going to find in here?" As psychiatrist, she doesn't need to know that unless I choose to tell her. My suboxone Doctor knew exactly what I was using and taking so he made sure I was safe. The way she handled the situation was ridiculous. She could have handled it much better. I never went back after that, and she never checked up on me to even ask how I was doing.

This week I walked out of Dr. Hartselle's office confident and energized to face life's many problems. Both credits as a conception from her resourceful medical skills and unique client-centered practice. Your homework is as essential as your office learning sessions. She is truly a healer with her practicality, knowledge of medicine and unique therapy techniques.

Excellent psychiatrist. Expensive but I would pay double for that kind of care.
