Negative experience from start to finish, from staff to doctor. Worst part was hearing doctor talk about me and make derogatory remarks about my appearance while she thought I couldn't hear her.

So after researching many gynos I finally settled on this one. The earliest appointment I could get was 4.5 weeks away. The location of the clinic was super far from any convenient subway since it's on 1st Ave. When I finally found the place, it was inside an apt bldg. I didn't particularly love that, but I understand it's NY and it's common. I signed in and didn't get even a glance from the 2 girls that were sitting there. I literally had to go up there and tell them I'm a new patient after which they informed me they had my name in the system, but no appointment booked. I was livid. I told them I took off work for this, etc. They just looked like they could care less and said I would have to reschedule to 7:45AM on a Wed. I told them I'd have to wake up at 5am to get there from Queens and they gave me another appt. I was so disappointed with the staff by this point that even though I took another appt date, I just ended up cancelling and finding another gyno.

I would recommend Dr. Lam to any of my peers. She is professional, warm and has great bedside manner. My one and only complaint is with the office staff. I found them to be not helpful and not personable to the point of being rude. I have had several appointments mixed up, or cancelled without any notification and when I call to make appointments are speak to the nurse I do not get any follow ups.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lam for years and she recently delivered our baby girl. I highly recommend her as an OB/Gyn. Appointments are made in a reasonable time frame, the wait in the office is not long at all, she calls you back if you need to get in touch with her and the staff is exceptional. Overall always a pleasant experience, she is awesome.

if you dont mind triple checking and basically forcing the staff to do there job and you dont mind getting talked down to or a doctor who does not take responsibilty this office is for you!

I've been going there for years and I never had problems with her staff until the last 7 months or so -- actually, a few of my friends and co-workers that I referred to that office have been having the same experiences lately. I'm torn between giving up on Dr. Lam who's such a great doctor or deal with the horrible receptionists. One receptionist was actually so cruel just because I kindly and simply asked her at the beginning of the appointment how long the wait would most likely be -- she apparently took it offensively, should have seen them eyes roll! She then notes she was unable to say. There was only one more person in the office so I didn't care much about that unclear response. With that being said, I was so astonished at the fact that I had to wait 90 minutes, I didn't even inquire about the wait again because I didn't want to upset her further. I happen to glance up as she puts up a chart with another chart (btw, four patients had check in and out already) and within 2… minutes I was called! Turns out, she did not put my chart up for the doctors to call me!!! I am so disappointed on how this receptionist can get a thrill out of these type of action without feeling horrible. Is she not human! I never got her name but I'm highly leading towards not returning and spreading the word further of this awful experience. FYI: this receptionist has been there about 8 months or so, Spanish, chubby (that's the friendly term for fat), straight-thin-shoulder-length hair (although, she might have just blown out her hair that day). Oh! I'm not sure if any of the other staff speaks spanish, probably not, they were black (no offense intended) but DUDE! She's always having phone sex in spanish -- it's not hard core but enough to make a patient feel uncomfortable.

Dr. Lam delivered my son-she was not only extremely professional but also caring and kind. She has an amazing bedside manner that immediately put my husband and I at ease.I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone seeking a top-notch, courteous professional.Basically, she rocks.

... even if they had told me they would be ready the day before... found the office staff, except the nurses very rude (at the Sty town location) -- rude on the phone and put you on hold FOREVER Did not feel comfortable with the doctor- felt as if I was taking up too much of her time and was not able to ask her questions. I know people have given rave reviews and I am glad they had a good experience but mine was surprisingly bad -- changed doctors and the experience is completely different.

I ended up at the ER early in my pregnancy with severe ab pain and I called her office and I NEVER heard back from her or any of her staff. I missed my sonogram the next day and there was no follow up call from her office. Absolutely changed doctors right after.

Dr. Lam is an excellent doctor and I would highly recommend her to anyone. I moved out of the city to Long Island and continue to see her for my annual visit. I also plan to stay with her through my obstetric care when the time comes. She is caring, intelligent and extremely comfortable to talk to. She has my highest recommendation!
