Dr. Stephanie Nahhas

In July, Dr. Stephanie Nahhas at the Eye Institute of Utah examined my eyes, and an optician filled my prescription. Within a few days, I noticed that my long and medium distance vision were still fuzzy. In August, she examined me again. I told her that my vision had not been corrected. I specifically told her that my medium and long-distance vision were not correct. Even after a second examination, Dr. Nahhas gave me the exact same long-distance prescription as the first prescription! Since she didn’t change the prescription, my eyes remained blurry. In September I decided to make an appointment with an ophthalmologist from a different eye clinic. She listened to my concerns about my long and medium vision and provided me with a correct prescription. This doctor significantly changed my prescription. When I picked up glasses from the optician, I immediately experienced much improved vision. Dr. Nahhas twice misdiagnosed my eyes. I do not know whether she is professionally incompetent… or whether she simply doesn’t listen to her patients. I recommend that patients look for an ophthalmologist instead of an optometrist.
