Dr. Stephanie Scham Ortega, MD

Dr. Ortega is an animal and should not be working I was sadly in the psychiatric holding facility and I’ve been on maintenance which is Suboxone maintenance for 10 years and she took the Suboxone from me for almost 3 days my son even called and they would not give it to me the nurses in the whole staff were nothing but cruel to me that woman is an animal and trust me when I tell you that I saw her and she was supposed to talk to me about it and she looked at me and told me to get away from her I was treated like an animal it was absolutely horrific I have trauma from it and thank goodness my son’s going to be a lawyer and that we already saw it legal counseling

Dr Ortega is an excellent emergency room physician in fact I had her on two separate occasions I had her in Denville in 2016 and in Dover in 2017. She was great, very friendly, always came in to check on me, ran every test possible, and then eventually sent me home, because everything came back okay. However she made sure I was really ready to go home because my stomach was in massive pain that night. She had the nurse give me a shot before I left and prescribed me some medication for my stomach cramps. I was very thankful for her to have as my doctor on both occasions so I am really shocked to see such a bad review on here about her. Thanks Dr Ortega!

First words out of her mouth after less than 5 minutes of examining an 11 month old baby was "could be meningitis. Only way to tell would be a spinal tap." Unprofessional, seemed more concerned with talking to other nurses about Facebook boyfriends instead of putting new parents and a sick 11 month old at ease. After a full night in the emergency room / hospital I spoke to Stephanie a total of 15 minutes and she had no idea what my son had. The next morning my Ped diagnosed my son with Coxsackie a very common virus. But still got a bill for Stephanie's "service" for $800 separate from the other hospital fee's.
