Dr. Stephen James Arntz, MD

I am in the process of filing multiple formal complaints with this office. I e never seen such unprofessionalism. Save yourself the trouble and do not come to this office!!!!!

Had Dr Arntz for my family dr for almost 20 years. Over that time, he really seemed like he cared. The problem is he prescribes heavy narcotics freely and when I got addicted and failed a drug test, instead of helping me get off narcotics, he dismissed me which resulted in major withdrawals. When I called his office and asked something for nausea, his office told me "sorry, we can't help you" That's not being responsible at all. Beware of this dr. He does not care for his patients.

I have been a patient of his since 2009. He has been the most caring, thorough doctor I have ever had. He has treated my mental health and pain and everything in between. He does a wonderful job at figuring out what is going on and if he can't figure it out he will refer you to someone who can. I put my full trust in him to manage my health.

Dr. Arntz himself is great, but the wait time is terrible. I've been with this doctor for about 7 years and it's been getting worse and worse. I'll be in the main waiting room for about 10 minutes and then spend an additional 25min or so in the back waiting for him to arrive. My husband tried to make an appointment and they told him his best chance was to go the the MedPlus because they were already triple booked (which explains the wait time)

Dr. Arntz is the most compassionate Dr. ive ever had! He listens to me.

COuld not be more pleased with Dr. Arntz. Staff at times do not help to provide a favorable feeling about the facility as a whole.

It amazes me that so many people review the staff instead of the Doctor. Dr Arntz has had 2 different support staffs over the course of these reviews (he moved practices in 2010), yet according to this both locations have rude staff. I have never found this to be the case in either place, however I have seen rude patients asking for special treatment and being told no and the subsequent huffing and puffing. Dr. Arntz is one of the few doctors I have encountered who really takes the time to sit down and discuss things with you. He is interested in your care, and does not rush through office visits. I really appreciate this. His annual physical is very thorough, and he takes the time to actually ASK about many things, instead of relying on my to bring them up. This really helps in this setting. For instance, I had missed mentioning that I sometimes get a 'ringing' in my ears, but through his prompting we ended up talking about it. I appreciate this kind of attention, and… continued with him after he moved from North Ave to the West Ave location.

Office manager is very rude. Nurses are not friendly. The only reason I go through the crap to see Dr. Arntz is I have been with him since he started. He change offices approx. 2010 and have not been a good experience with office staff. I have several illinesses and I not sure I can deal with the staff being so rude, unhelpful & caring.
