Dr. Stephen A Bankston, DMD

I recently brought my daughter to Dr Bankston's office to have all 4 of her wisdom teeth pulled. During the initial consultation Dr. Bankston was very personable and patient. He explained the procedure and answered all of our questions. He could see that I was actually more nervous than my daughter and reassured me that he would take good care of her. The surgery went well and my daughter recovered quickly with no problems. I have one more daughter who needs her wisdom teeth removed and I know just where I'm taking her. Thank you Dr. Bankston for making my family and I feel both welcome and comfortable at your office.

Detached, neutral, poker-faced, remote. This describes both of my visits to Dr. Bankston’s Galleria office. The staff were equally impersonal. Not rude, just impersonal. One assistant, I believe her name was Lisa, was absolutely kind and personable. Any effort of conversation was initiated by myself. My name was never spoken by Doctor Bankston. No nice to meet you. No first visit get-to-know-you. It’s strictly procedural. According to Bankston’s bio, he also does cosmetic surgery. I can’t see myself even entertaining the personal distance that I would encounter when approaching such a risky surgical procedure. As to his skills, I can only say that the extraction was quick and seems to be healing well.

I was a patient of Dr Bankston. I am writing so no one has to experience what I went through or possibly worse. Dr Bankston performed a simple implant and bone graft for me. The first surgery went poorly and I was taken to the emergency room on a weekend because of massive infection due to the sutures in my mouth falling out because they were poorly done. My face was swollen and pus was all inside my mouth. The ER gave me antibiotics and the infection cleared up. I figured it was a mistake and I would allow him to complete the work. The second surgery went worse then the first. The implant became infected and I went to Dr Bankston to see how he planned on handling it. He said it looked fine and I should just allow him to shoot me with enough novocaine to last 24 hours. That didn't sound right. I went to my general dentist and she immediately called another surgeon and asked him to stay after hours to see me. He said the implant had failed an it needed to come out. He gave me pain… medication and antiboitics. This was a Friday I scheduled my new surgeon to remove the implant the following week. Over the weekend I was having a very hard time swallowing. I called Bankston's on call physician and he said to "immediately go to an emergency room" My understanding is the infection was spreading. I went to the ER and they administered medications and steroids to fight the infection and reduce the swelling. In my opinion, anyone considering using him should think again. See Griffin v Bankston....very similar experience noted in this malpractice suit against Bankston.

Dr. Bankston is very disrespectful and dismissive. He was physically and verbally agressive with me on my post opp appointment. I would not recommend my worst enemy to his practice. Very unprofessional and lack concern. If you visit other website about him and check out other reviews you will see his rating are not that high.

Excellent service. I had a tooth extraction and implant. Dr. Bankston and his staff are to be commended for the procedure, customer care and the manner in which he followed up. Due to he had to do some bone build-up caused the procedure to be a little more extensive than I thought. However, he took care of me in an excellent manner. Moreover, I visited both the Marietta and Galleria offices and the staff and facilities are superb. I highly recommend Dr. Bankston for the pinnacle level of expertise and excellent care he brings to both his profession and the patients in which he provides care.

I was afraid to have implants due to the terrible experience I had suffered from another dentist. Dr. Bankston listened to my concerns and explained the procedure in detail. He had very good staff that ensured I was comfortable and ready for the procedure. Dr. Bankston's attention to detail, understanding of my fears, and his ability to do my procedure without me having any complications was amazing. I would highly recommend Dr. Bankston for not only his professional services but his ability to have a personal touch in his caring manner for his patients......that's very hard to find.

Staff - unprofessional Doctor - don't trust a word he says. He tells you one thing and does another Dr. Bankston treated me for an extraction. Beware of false charges!!! Double billing for services he claimed you had and you actually did not like anesthesia when you were fully awake. I wonder how many patients do not check their bills and e.o.b. from their dental insurance to find that

I was extremely nervous about having my wisdom teeth extracted when I went to see Dr. Bankston. He came very highly recommended from my general dentist and now I understand why. The consultation visit was extremely helpful and Dr. Bankston made me feel very comfortable by explaining to me in great detail exactly how the procedure would be performed. Everyone in the office was happy with smiles and appeared to love their jobs. I was in and out of the office in 35 minutes and felt very informed about my surgery and insurance benefits. The morning of the surgery just two days later, everything went exactly as described by Dr. Bankston at the consultation visit. I went to sleep and woke up in the recovery room and the surgery was over. I did not feel anything or remember anything just as Dr. Bankston described. I even received a call from the Dr. Bankston's office the evening of the surgery to check on me. I was really impressed by that, when is the last time you got a call from your… doctor's off?? I had minor soreness after surgery but only had to use a few Vicodin and Advil to relieve the discomfort. Thank God for Dr. Bankston and his staff!!!

I had a dental implant done and it was the best experience. I was really nervous and Dr. Bankston was really patient, understanding and caring. The recovery was quick and painless. My dentist was amazed that Dr. Bankston was able to place my implant in the small place that he had to work with. Now I feel great about my smile again!

My nephew was hurt playing basketball with his friends. I called Dr. Bankston office and they were able to see us the next day. Dr. Bankston seemed busy that day but when it was time for our consultation he treated us like we were his only priority. He was able to do my nephew surgery the same day. His staff was very professional making sure my nephew was comfortable (he was nervous) Thanks Dr. Bankston and staff
