Dr. Stephen John Barton, MD

He delivered my daughter via csection. Very informative and a nice man in general.

Dr. Barton dropped me 30 weeks pregnant because of his own failure and him not liking to be called out on it. Before I was pregnant I went to Barton and complained weekly that I was in pain, Barton brushed me off and didn’t care to look further into my problem. I then went to a new doc in Nashville and found out that I had a tumor, ovarian cyst, and endometriosis and had surgery. Unfortunately, I got a new job and couldn’t make it to Nashville in time for my apts so was forced to come back (a year or so later and 30 wks pregnant). When I came back he asked me basic questions (catching up on what he missed) I then informed him of the situation and completed my apt. The next day I received a certified first class letter from his office saying he does not want to be my doc anymore. Instead of apologizing and working to not make the same mistake he dropped me. To add more damage to the story I found a new doc who would take me in and asked barton’s office to transfer my records they told… me 7-10 business days for them to fax it over. Since I was so far along I needed to establish a new doc quick so I informed them that I would just come pick up the records myself and take them to the new doc. Once I arrived at the new doc office the nurse and I looked down at my hands and noticed that not only did they give me my records but I had two other patient information TOTAL HIPPA VIOLATION. Dr Barton office is unprofessional, unorganized, and uneducated. I would give negative stars if I could!!

I was refered to Dr.Barton from the hope center at 8 weeks. When I first started going everthing seemed fine, the only thing was i never saw the doctor only the nurses. I saw Dr.Barton maybe twice through my whole pregnancy. One day I was about 36 weeks pregnant, and I felt like I was leaking fluid. I called and they told me I had peed on my self, which was not the case. I knew it was fluid because it was oderless, and I had just used the bathroom. So they scheduled me an appointment the next day didnt check me or anything when I went in. The only thing they did was asked how I was and told me I will be fine. A week later I had lost my son due to placenta abruption. Had they given me an ultrasound to make SURE i was fine, they would have been able to see my placenta detaching from my uterus. Needless to say I feel as if they had some part in the loss of my son, and if anyone cares about the baby they are carring DONT go there. I am now pregnant with my second child and my new doctor is… great he sees me every 2 weeks just to be sure everything is fine. He also discovered a genetic blood clotting disorder that Dr. Barton had not noticed. The only reason they got a star is because I couldnt submit this if I didn't select a start, should've at least gave me the option to select half a star. They SUCK.

If you need a great gynecologist, see Dr. Barton! He is absolutely wonderful! I've had a lot of problems and he has been sympathetic, caring, quick, and his exams have never been uncomfortable or painful. He is the most awesome gynecologist I have ever had!

He was a great OB during my last pregnancy with my youngest daughter. He really takes good care of his patients! I had gestational diabetes also. I was induced and he was able to deliver.. He made sure I was completely comfortable and he let me decide how soon I wanted the epidural. Overall great experience and easy birth, and she was a 9lb 3oz baby! I recommend him to all my friends

Dr barton has been wonderful doctor. He was great when I was pregnant with my first child and informed me along the way. Not being from the area I feel I was in very good hands throughout my pregnancy.
