Dr. Stephen A Brietzke, MD

I read the review of someone that had seen this doctor and I had to look twice to see if were talking about the same doctor. I have been diabetic for 57 years and not only have I had the best of care in a city like New York but I worked as a health care provider for 30 years. This Dr. is quite knowledgeable in his field but has patience and care to deal with us patients that think we know it all. Perhaps you may need to go to someone who is in it only for the $$$$. There are plenty of those. Good luck sir or mam its not easy to find a taylor made doctor.

This was one of the worst interactions with a physician I have ever had. I went to him for hypothyroid issues. The whole purpose of me going to a specialist was to have someone listen to my history, review my records and treat accordingly. I spoke with his intern for a half hour without him in the room. He came in, told her she did not have to "catch him up" spoke with me for about 5 minutes and told me he did not believe what a previous doctor had told me (or did not believe me) until I told him it was through the University, then he believed it. I asked a question and he was flippant, dismissive and rude. He then wrote me a perscription and that was it. He did not ask me a single question, I had copies of my medical history, he did not look at them, he did not look at my most recent bloodwork, nothing. Just wrote a prescription. I then received a bill for over $370, for 5 minutes of consultation. I left frustrated and in tears. Sad, and expensive.
