My wife was diagnosed with depression 10 years ago. She has suffered and agonized throughout this time finding very little relief through medication or therapy. She recently has been presented with the possibility that her condition may be a form of ADHD, and the symptoms fit very closely. She made an appointment with Dr. Bump, being assured by his staff that he was well versed in this disorder. Upon arriving she was told by Dr. Bump that he had very little experience with ADHD and didn't feel comfortable diagnosing it, but he decided to keep the appointment anyway. What followed was nothing short of Apathy and Disrespect. She presented him with her experiences and symptoms that she had painstakingly considered. His reply was dismissive and accusatory, telling her she was self diagnosing. He questioned her symptoms in disbelief as if they were "too perfect". He insinuated that she was there only for pills that "act like Speed". My wife was forced to cut him off and leave his office… crying. She was asking for help, not drugs. She offered her history and difficulties, not a diagnosis. She sought a doctor for help as a patient and found only uncaring pessimism. His staff should be up to speed on his credentials. He should not have taken the appointment, or sought a consult, knowing he was not comfortable with the disorder. He should have acted objective instead of jumping to wrongful conclusions. If he no longer cares about patients then he should retire. The effects of these actions hit my wife very hard, thinking she is not even worthy of a doctors help and that no relief will ever come. If you need a doctor who listens or cares, do not use Dr. Bump.

My husband's family have been going to Dr. Bump for over 20 years. My mother-in-law has had a chronic foot problem for over 5 years that Dr. Bump has been unwilling to find a solution for saying that eventually her dark red and/or black feet will have to be amputated. It took Dr. Rushton, "A Fantastic Podiatrist" 5 minutes to diagnose and treat her. It is quite apparent to us that Dr. Bump has grown apathetic. He will no longer be treating anyone in our family.
