Dr. Stephen James Burgun, MD

I did not have a great experience with this doctor. He is knowledgeable however if you ask questions regarding any alternatives to prescription medicine he is not receptive or helpful and actually condescending. His wait time is also terrible, I waited for a first morning appointment for 45 minutes after arriving on time. His respect for his patients time is non existent. I called his office several times and left messages and not once received a call back as well. Go elsewhere.

From the moment I called his office, Dr. Burgun's staff was accommodating and helpful. I needed an appointment on short notice in order to take my mother to see Dr. Burgun during my brief visit to Ohio. They pulled out all the stops to be helpful...thank you, Larissa! Dr. Burgun was compassionate, discussing every aspect of my mother's diabetes, her medical issues and her lifestyle. He established a realistic goal for her and reviewed her current medications in depth as well as explaining advantages, possible side effects and guidelines of the new medication. His instructions were clear and concise, and they were written that way as well. He provided a written copy for both my mother and me. Dr. Burgun had the nurse give a lesson on the use of the insulin pen which her previous doctor did not do, and it was especially helpful. My mother and I both trust Dr. Burgun and will rely on him as a resource and important member of her care team.

I have given this doctor many chances. I have been trying to reach him many times by phone. I called him over a dozen times. I'm still waiting for a call back. I called him this last time four days ago and still no call. I think it's time to see another doctor since apparently this one doesn't care enough about his patients to call them back. If you go see him as a patient you wait over an hour to be seen to be just rushed out of the room in a couple minutes so he can see his next patient. Doctor just doesn't have people skills. I feel it's all about the money than his patients.

Went to this dr and waited over an hour to be seen. When I was seen he was in and out in seven minutes. He never gave me time to talk and be heard. I waited two months to see him for nothing, he didn't care about why I was there.

Called for initial appointment for a potentially serious health issue, only to be told I could not be seen until the end of Oct, as it was then the end of July. Tried to voice my concerns of the time delay only to be talked over by a rude, overbearing receptionist. In my opinion, this office is very unprofessional and needs to re - evaluate their practices.

My husband has seen Dr. Burgun and his synthroid levels have been OFF for over a year and Dr. Burgan cannot figure out what is wrong. K has been in 5 hospitals and he is worse. Anyone know of a good Endocrinologist? K cannot get out of bed now or even function. Our Medical system is terrible- NO communication between Dr's - PCP's or specialists - OR hospitals - ads on TV look good but no one gets better - WHY? Wish we lived in Switzerland!

I really did not like Dr . Burgun at first very cold and dry. After seeing him for the last 2 years I found him to much more friendly and very caring He is very accurate in his diagnosis. He is always late waited 1 1/2 hours today to see him and he spent maybe 8 minutes with me.

i really didnt know him like i do nbut i can honestly say now....i wouldnt have it any other way.....this man is genius!!!he is smart...and finds solutions to help...i am sooooo happy to have been placed under his care...he is a doctor...of doctors...ty doctor.burgun

Doctor Burgun was thorough, patient, and caring.. I would recommend him to the pope!!!
