Dr. Stephen Patrick Cafferty, DO

Dr. Cafferty saved my life. After 3 1/2 years of suffering and dozens of doctors writing me off, Dr. Cafferty not only believed me but ran some simple blood tests and found i was suffering from several serious issues and saved me from the edge of death - i will forever be grateful to this man. He has gotten bad reviews mostly from drug seekers that were cut off. Unfortunately i witnessed some of them in his office and later saw their reviews, just crazy.

I have been a patient of Dr C for a very long time. He has always been an awesome doctor and right on the money with diagnosis. Unfortuneatly, his office staff has much to be desired. They are rude for no apparent reason, they don't answer the phone or return phone calls. I think that Dr C would still have his practice opened if he had just hired an outside office staff, rather than relatives and his wife. I certainly hope that he is doing well where ever he is now. I sure do wish he were still in practice. It is very hard to find a doctor in Southern Maryland that you can trust and have confidence in. I truly miss Dr Cafferty.

the reason for us leaving Dr. Cafferty was the waiting each time we made an appointment. It took almost two hours to get into seeing him.

After two visits I realized the office staff "is what it is". Doctor seems nice but wanted to give lots of rx's before diagnosing the problem. Did not get calls answered, tired of waiting. Asked a question and had a very rude response from employee. My health was not taken seriously, need to find a good doctor with a good office staff.

2nd time I did not get a return call and I was really sick! Its too hard to get a message to the doctor, its like you have to keep trying and trying and hope something happens. One of the supervisors was rude to me for no reason, like i was in her way or something. whats up with that? Probaly forgot her prozac. Come on, answer your messages!

He was the ONLY doctor who figured out that I had thyroid desease and fibromyalgia. He is still the ONLY doctor I have ever found, who knows how to treat fibromyalgia and ease my pain efficently, without drugging me. :-) I miss my doctor and wish he was here instead of there.

Very good doctor, but the office staff can be very rude and sullen. (billing person). I must agree with the other review, as I too have heard the office manager yelling, slamming the phone down and shouting MFB!!! Very unprofessional and not cool for little ears.

Dr. C seems to be very good at diagnosing illnesses and has a fine manner about him. What is with the poorly run office though? The office manager cusses like a sailor in front of staff, and maybe she doesn't realize the patients hear her carry on. She also talks down to Dr. C. who seems intimidated by her. Don't let your poor office staff drag you down doc! I also called the billing person with a question and she was just as rude as she could be. Found a new doc!

I have been seeing Dr. Cafferty for 8 years. I thought things would get better once he opened his own practice. Unfortunately, this is not the case. His staff is very rude, not helpful and seems irritated that they have to deal with patients. Dr. Cafferty is very nice, seems genuinely caring, but seems rushed and writes out prescriptions quickly and does not follow-up. The wait time is absolutely ridiculous. Maybe if he would quit taking cigarette breaks his patients would not have to wait so long. I have decided it is time to find a new doctor.

I did not get a call back when I asked to make an appt, I was not acknowledged until after asking 25 minutes after arriving even after I was asked to come early to fill out paperwork. It took me over 1.5 hours to be seen. Office staff seemed caddy, incompetent and made for a bad experience.
