Dr. Stephen Edward Chiarello, MD

Having grown up a surfer in Southern California in the sixties with blonds hair and blue eyes, you can imagine the issues I have had with skin cancer over the past 25 years. I have had skin specialists from California to overseas, plus here in Florida, but none have been in the league of Dr. Chiarello in Port Charlotte. I have now gone to Dr. Chiarello for the past fifteen years, and have had many, many procedures done for my skin cancer. It is not only that his diagnostic expertise has been superb, but his ability to address tough, intricate skin surgeries has shown his equal to the finest plastic surgeons available here or in California. He is a no nonsense physician with the experience demanded for these types of intricate medical concerns. I would give my absolute highest recommendation for Dr. Chiarello, if you are currently addressing these types of Dermatological issues.

If you want a doctor who exudes confidence in his abilities, Dr. Chiarello is your man. I want my physician to exhibit confidence. He believes that good health stems from good nutrition and stresses that. The two ladies in his reception area, Sonia and Vicki greet you pleasantly when you arrive and bid you a pleasant goodbye as you leave. Jeanette, his assistant, is very competent. She has a sense of humor. All in all my first visit with this dermatologist was very positive.

Pay no attention to any negative reviews. My husband and I have gone to Dr. Chiarello for years. I have had numerous lesions removed even from the middle of my face - no scars whatsoever. He is thorough, answers questions and has a calm bedside manner that puts you at ease before any procedures. Staff is very friendly and accommodating as well.

Dr. Chiarello found a very invasive basal cell carcinoma in the fold of skin completely hidden. The thing was huge and was mostly internal. He certainly has an eagle eye to spot things. The thing was as large as the tip of my small finger. Yet after the surgery, there is no visible scar. The other thing I appreciate about Dr. Chiarello is his knowledge on nutrition and nutritional supplements in the prevention of health issues. I highly recommend this practice! Thank you!

My name is Kevin Luckett, in 2012 I got really sick and week. I did not know who to go to. My skin was peeling so I looked in the on the internet and found Dr. Chiarello. I was living in Port Charlotte at the time. I was so week I could not even open the gas cap on my SUV. When the doctor first so me he was surprised. Before my illness, I weighed 200 lbs. I was now a frail 172 lbs. I looked like I was dying. The doctor told me he would do some test. He did and told me it looked like I had a version of Lupus. He put me on Prednisone and told me to stay out of the sun. He told me what clothing to wear and to keep my head covered with a certain type of hat. I saw to my recover for about 6 months. I owe Dr. Stephen Chiarello my life. He is an amazing person and doctor. He cares deeply about his patients well being. I tried to get him to put me on pain pills but he said he would never subscribe a medicine that would be addictive. He is that honest. I thank Dr. Chiarello for life.

I just had a basal cell carcinoma removed from an area of my face near my nose and am very grateful that Dr Chiarello found it early. The basal cell tumor is very invasive. Dr Chiarello and his staff also take the time to become aware of and take the time to give their patients a program of prevention in both protection from the sun and nutritional supplements. I have been going to Dr Chiarello for several years and I couldn't be happier. He does a very thorough checkup which is welcome when it comes to my skin. I can't really see issues on my backside, if I have any. I do have a history of skin cancer and have been to several other doctors. None of them take the time to discuss the deeper issues involved in actually taking care of the skin. Treating and caring for the skin is a process that requires many layers..not just looking on the outside and treating it with chemicals. It starts with what we put into our bodies as well. Most dermatologist offer skin care products of their own that are very costly. This dermatologist has a variety of products and most are inexpensive and affordable. Dr. Chiarello is honest and tells it like it is. If you don't want to hear the truth (sometimes the truth is hard to digest), then find a dermatologist that lets you be the doctor. I highly recommend Dr Chiarello.

This man told me that my HS would be best treated by going on a keto diet and taking supplements. In fast there were more vitamins in his office than in the health food store. This man is a quack. See someone else!
