Dr. Stephen Craig Ellen, MD

Dr. Ellen was very thorough and seemed as invested in not giving me medication as any other outcome. He described himself as a consultant, helping me make a decision for myself. I was comfortable with him and I have felt better the past 6 months than I can remember in a long time. I never met a psychiatrist that spent 2 hours with me before recommending any treatment, in the past it has been 10 minutes at most. I like being taken seriously and carefully listened to.

Dr. Ellen is very professional and knowledgeable. He spends the time to get to know his patients and doesn't rush them out the door. I would highly recommend Dr. Ellen.

Becomes easily frustrated and was not compassionate to my problems.

dr. ellen is as pompous as one can be......as previous reviewers said he makes almost 1/4 million dollars/yr from pharmaceutical companies and one can look up his prescription writing habits (public record) for a fee...and see that it follows the money trail.... and btw compassionate doctor award is something one pays for....i know am a doctor and would never pay..for an award

I think people get confused with the expectations, if you are not happy then go see someone else who does not care and has 25% of the knowledge that Dr. ellen has. When you are good at what you do you have a busy schedule because you are also helping other people. Remember it is not all about you, he is extremly professional and counts on you adapting and wanting to get better.

I see Dr. Ellen every couple of months and every time I go to see him for a 20 minute appointment I usually end up waiting AT LEAST 30 minutes for him to see me. He is ALWAYS behind. By the time I see him he usually only spends 5 minutes with me!

Dr. Ellen was thorough and caring. He seemed interested in my story unlike other psychiatrists I had seen and his choices of medication made a real difference in my life. I feel lucky I found him.

I had the good fortune to have Dr. Ellen as my psychiatrist for some years. Though my condition proved to be quite challenging, he was with me each step of the way. His knowledge is impressive, and he works to keep up with the literature (not an easy task today). Importantly, Dr. Ellen is unusually calming and caring during times of great crisis.

Dr. Ellen took more time to figure out my problem than any of the 4 psychiatrists I worked with in the last 12 years. I finally feel better for the first time in my life. He really helped me with time, effort and medical skill. Thanks!!!
