Dr. Stephen Charles Doughty, MD

I would highly recommend not to waste your time with this dr. He didn't even listen to anything I had to say and never ran one test on me. I had to travel to see this dr and I'm extremely frustrated by his bedside manner and deaf ears. I don't talk just to hear myself talk. I talk because he's a doctor and I want him to stand by the oath he took as a doctor to listen and he didn't. I have to highly agree with other complaints...what a joke!

Treated my family like lower beings and he does not own what he says. He back pedaled several times on decisions he made. He is a joke and should not be practicing. I DO NOT recommend Dr. Doughty.

I was rushed into the hospital unconcious with bacterial meningitis. Was near death for a couple of days. He was the one that came up with the antibiotic "cocktail" that pulled me through this. His office staff was very nice and helped me an immense amount. He without a doubt saved my life. As far as his bedside manner goes, he can be a little gruff. He is a specialist in a field without a whole lot of people in it. He told me he was pretty non stop all day every day and wished he could scale back somewhat as to have more one on one time. But in my case, the tradeoff was worth it. Would highly reccomend him to friends and family.

Dr. Doughty was as rude and blunt as any Dr. I have experienced. I don't mind to the point Dr's, or even rushed because of time Dr's, but this was ridiculous. His attitude was bad enough for me to find this site to post a review. (Something I have never done). If your Dr ask a question, I expect him to listen to your answer, he didn't!

Keeps up-to-date on the latest solutions for infectious diseases. Very willing to change medications if the patient is having side effects. Coordinates care with my general practitioner. Thorough. Sensitive to the needs of the patient. Kind-of a gruff demeanor but takes the time to ensure that his patient is well.

I thought he was fairly rude and short. He did all his typing on his computer while he talked with me. He wouldn't call my surgeon back while he was on vacation...and had no one else to cover for him...meanwhile, I tried to battle many post surgery complications.
