Dr. Stephen Christopher Dudley, MD

Dr. Dudley is one the best provider that I know . I have been a patient with Dr. Dudley for over 7 years plus. He’s very positive, caring and was looking out for me . When I had my first appointment with him he listened to what I was saying, what I was dealing with. I has severe anxiety, depression was out of my mind from dealing with death , stress out from work. I found myself dying inside. Dr. Dudley cared . I thank you so much Doc. For being such a great man, doctor and most of all for being such a great person.

Dr. Dudley helped me through an incredibly tough crisis in my life. I have gone from forlorn to happy, productive and successful. I am able to know help others and offer support and encouragement to others who are suffering.

Dr. Dudley is a knowledgeable physician. Relatable and easy to talk to. Never comes off as condescending and you know he is listening to your concerns.

I have had ADHD my entire life and endured many of the struggles that come with it and my medication. Dr. Dudley has always been someone who not only knows how to help his patients but understands the struggles and how to best to cope and treat in ways no other doc has before. Highly recommend.

I initially had a lot of hope in him, but time began to reveal his incompetencies. I don't think a psychiatrist should ever ask a patient what the patient thinks that we should do. I understand a doctor wanting a patient to be a part of their own care but Dr. Dudley began asking me that several times, and the truth is that I was a patient seeking his medical expertise, and if I knew what to do, I wouldn't have been in his office. Aside from that, it was a struggle for him to keep up with the medication changes, and I was seeing him every month. I'd have to tell him what occured at the last appointment. This made me uncomfortable. Aside from the general questionere that you feel out on a tablet before your first appointment, there were no formal evaluations or assessments done to rule out the possibility of more advanced mental conditions. He will talk to you a lot, and will go on many different tangents. Unfortunately, the majority of the conversation wasn't focused… around the treatment. What really did it for me was when I contacted him to inform him that I was having a mental crises after some medication changes and asked him if he could refer me to any inpatient facilities. He said that he didn't know any and told me to call the police. I inquired about inpatient settings several times and he continued to say that he was not connected to any impatient facilities. After informing the attending physicians of my mental status during an inpatient admission for a medical issue, they referred me to an intensive outpatient program located at the Emory Wesley Woods building which happens to also be the place for inpatient psychiatric treatment. Low and behold, Dr. Dudley was one of the doctors working in the intensive IOP. I couldn't believe it. Dr. Dudley is a nice guy, but nice isn't good enough when it comes to my mental health. I saw a new psychiatrist after I stopped seeing Dr. Dudley, and in one visit, the new Dr. was able to help me more than Dr. Dudley did in over a year. He got the correct diagnosis, put me on the right medications and for the first time in years I began to feel like the old me. I still have a long way to go, but I believe I'm headed in the right direction in regards to my recovery. If Dr. Dudley is able to help you, awesome. But just be aware that he is not the cream of the crop when it comes to doctors in his field.

He has been my doctor for a while now.Sadly, this month is the last month he will be my doctor due to him living in another state.He is very friendly,and if you have a problem with your medications,he is fast to fix the problem.I like him so much that I may end up driving hours to keep him as my doctor!
