Dr. Stephen A Dunlap, MD

It's been a long while since seeing this doctor last so who knows if he's changed but what I recall is an overarching attitude of classic western medical arrogance that overshadows consideration of more holistic or less invasive treatments.

My visit with Dr. Dunlap was remarkably enjoyable. He has a wonderful way about him that is disarming and relaxing. I really liked him a lot and would recommend him to anyone. The staff was also very friendly.

I went to see Dr. Dunlap after having misgivings about several other doctors in the area. I found him to be very to-the-point and succinct, which is important to me as someone who might be in a medical position that requires timeliness. We got along very well. He quickly adjusted to my level of comprehension of the subject, slowing down when he needed to and getting more technical when we both felt he could. I can't think of anything negative to say about him, he's helped me a great deal.

Tells little dumb stories about himself, does not listen and thank god I have not had any serious problem. I plan to get away from him and his HMO as soon as I get on Medicare which will be next year. Now I have no choice because insurance with him and his HMO was chosed by my employer.

Dr. Dunlap does not listen to patients. When describing clear symptoms of angina, he turned away from me, then drew a picture of dots on a paper and told me I had these dots in my throat, and they were from a GI virus that "everyone" is getting. he stated that this virus was the cause of my chest pains (even though I clearly stated I had the pain for more than one month, and that they were brought on by exertion and relieved by rest).I ended up having a severe heart attack, and was diagnosed as such after being airlifted to the hospital. Diagnosis: 6 major blockages in my coronary arteries, and as a result of the MI (heart attack), my ejection fraction (measure of the fucntion of my heart) was 35 % (normal =70%)
