Dr. Stephen James Galizio, MD

Dr Galizio a real nice guy, easy to talk to and listens. Sorry to say lost him as a primary care doctor. Still cardiac patient so I will still get to see him and his great staff. Anyone is lucky to have this Doctor in their corner.

I have been a patient of Dr Galizio for going on two years.So glad I found him.He is very patient and really listens and answers any questions I may have and there are lots of them.The staff is great-- the girls in the office are welcoming and make you feel very comfortable.When I have needed to call, always call back very promptly

#1 DIRTY NAILS & BAD PRACTICE The Nurse Practitioner did a standard test where I I'm supposed to sit still and follow her finger with my eyes as she moves her index finger in more than a few directions. I had no problem focusing on her hands because the NAILS had crud in them. It was unsettling. She verbally diagnosed me with Carpal Tunnel. I just could not stop thinking about her FILTHY NAILS. Also my blood work is overdue and she didn't seem to care. #2 DOCTOR STEPHEN GALIZIO - PCP my Primary Care Provider, is not someone to be trusted to follow through with some important things. We talked on the phone one day over a month ago, He is very aware of my wrist/hand injury. I was advised by Dr. Stephen Galizio to follow his medical regime of to different medications. One medicine helps to relax the muscle, and at a low and comfortable dose. The other medication is a controlled substance. He prescribed the second medicine to stop the pain, knowing that COVID-19 was going to affect… everything, so he set it up for one refill. He advised me to call his office again a couple weeks later to set up more refills, and insisted that these two medications were the perfect fix for now and that I should continue this medical regime. HE WAS RIGHT! The low doses of both medications made my hand feel so normal. He doesn't even recall our conversation, so now I just feel the way I did before and will just wait for this pandemic to end so I can finally see a Doctor who can focus on their patient's needs. I still haven't spoken to him. #3 THE ANSWERING SERVICE Many, many times, I called during business hours for weeks and kept getting nothing but the automated "this line is busy." Finally, and 2:00 on Wednesday, I spoke with a woman who answered. I work at a Pharmacy. I was talking on speaker phone so the pharmacist would know what the woman at the Doctor's office was advising us to do. She was helpful in reaching out to my doctor and trying to get things taken care of. She advised the pharmacist to send a request for both medications so they would be "filed all together," and they were sending my medication to the pharmacy at that very moment. Layer that evening when my shift ended, I walked over to the other side of the pharmacy to find that only one medication was sent. I called my Doctor's answering service and they sent my Dr. a message to call me and remind him to send over the other medication that was fixing my wrist for all this time. The answering service told me that Dr. Galizio would call me in about 10 minutes. 45 minutes go by and I never got a call. I called the answering service a second time and she told me with a bored and angry tone that "the message to the Doctor wasn't sent until 10 minutes ago." I called back a third time and they became verbally hostile and I actually started crying which was weird. The "owner" of the answering service threatened me and somehow made sure I wouldn't be seen by Dr. Galizio again because she sent him messages about me with hate, and it was very petty. Negative effects and symptoms happen when you abruptly stop your medication regime, which is what they made me to. That owner with the smoker's voice deliberately put my health at risk. #4 Barbara Barbara is a manager in the Doctor's Office. I called the following morning to tell Dr. Galizio's office and the line was busy a few more times and finally I was able to start telling them about how poorly the answering service treated me. I started to talk about it and then she asked my name and put me on hold. Barbara answered, and she refused to listen to how I was treated and said "we've had this answering service for a long time and no complaints." Well I had a bad experience and I wasn't allowed to say what happened because she said she would side with the answering service and that I need to go to a new Primary Care Provider. I felt upset and frustrated. DON'T TRUST THEM because they will diagnose you incorrectly and make a plan to help you and just forget about it because they have way too many patients. Barbara is horrible.

Dr Galizio is a wonderful PCP. Very thourough. Very attentive. Happy to have a doctor that listens and explores each question i have and offers advice. I don't understand the review by the guy with the "papa". He seems a bit confused and describes someone that doesn't at all sound like Dr Galizio. If you want an excellent primary care doctor, you can't do better than Dr Galizio in my opinion.

Been seeing him for years. Won't see anybody else. Both the Dr and the staff are always extremely helpful . With some drs to get a prescription refilled can be a project. With him I get it within hrs. And the staff is top notch (Tina and Barbara)

I've been waiting until I saw my grandfather awake and well after his triple bypass surgery in Boston by a fantastic surgeon and team; This is my time. This does not reflect the help of Dr. Galizio. According to Mr. Galizio, the state my grandfather was in prior to this at Lawrence general- it, and I quote, "it wasn't an emergency situation" was the term he used via telephone after he disappeared on my grandfather an entire day while my family and I did our homework on what was really going on. I will now only say this; I hope Dr. Galizio learns from this- that he will never take his patients lightly in his practice and hopefully now doing so wholeheartedly because it's a entire life and family that can be ruined by waiting too long and not investigating properly. My family and I could have not had my papa here today because of improper evaluation of him first okaying him for a hip replacement without fully checking his heart (as we came to know all of the blockages he had) and… then ignoring our calls after he then returned for in hospital stay at Lawrence General. At that time we were waiting for dr. Galizios consent to be transferred to Brigham and women's hospital for proper care. After wondering why an entire day went by to wait for his consent I frantically called Dr. Galizios office close to 7:45pm and spoke to a very kind secretary explaining the situation- she understood personally how frustrated I was not knowing why the dr couldn't even return a phone call and then pushed through to him to call us. At that time, Dr. Galizio stated it wasn't an emergency situation and didn't feel the need to reach us back all day. He also had the notes from our calls from the day. The next morning my papa finally got to Brigham and women's where they evaluated him properly and determined the severity of the situation where he then had a triple bypass the following week. Amongst other neglected health concerns that prior Dr.s missed;he is now in good hands. That is all. My review reflects the neglect portrayed in reality that my family and I faced from a Dr. we were hopeful to trust; most importantly my grandfathers life at hand.

I am so happy that I found Dr. Galizio. He never rushes me and answers every question I have.

Dr, Galizo is an awesome dr. and his nurse is excellent always has the answers for us the staff goes out of the way to help with any problems you may have.

So frustrated with the baboons in this office....sick of hearing we'll call you back and then nothing. Yeah Dr. Is nice but I'd rather a competent office staff to deal with. You can't tell me he's never gotten wind of what's going on out there (or should I say what's not going on out there). Time for a new Dr.

dr. Galizio should look into his staff. He and his staff have no interaction.
