Dr. Stephen Vine Gordon, MD

Preop appt went great. Dr Gordon was personable, informative (so we thought) funny, witty, and most importantly....he put my daughter at ease. Surg went as expected. Recovery not so much. My daughter ran into some complications which caused me to make several phone calls to his answering service and office. My last phone call I was told, by Dr Gordon... I have called his office enough and now, has become unacceptable. I could not believe what he just told me. I apologized for "bothering" him (which I should NOT have apologized) He then told me my daughter is 21, she needs to get it together an stop acting like a child. Keep in mind....she had 2 hemorrhoids removed, one internal the other external. And one larger than his thumb. A VERY VERY PAINFUL SURGERY!! I tried explaining to him she is in extreme pain and she thinks something is wrong. A good physician would have said bring her in. His words I quote, " I didn't give her hemorrhoids, I just fixed it." I was in a state of shock.… RUN!!! This man was totally out of line and should NEVER speak to/about a patient the way he did. If you are looking for a surgeon and you come across this one, run as fast as you can.

Dr. Stephen Gordon thought that it was a good idea to deny interpreting services for a Deaf patient who needs surgery and was referred by his primary care doctor. I don’t usually resort to public shaming but, this practice was EXTREMELY unprofessional and thought nothing of denying my father of his basic fundamental right- communication. He was told to find another surgeon because he “doesn’t pay for interpreters”. Like it’s a courtesy or something? NO, it is the LAW! Same as a wheelchair ramp or any other ADA accommodation. If any of my friends know him, let him know- the cost of an interpreter is a lot cheaper than a lawsuit. I will make this public, feel free to share so that our community knows firsthand who discriminates. I am not done here.

If your insurance screws up, forget this inhumane physician.

Dr Gordon is a excellent physician. He kept my husband alive for 141/2 years . He did surgery on my husband several different times of over the years. And when other drs wanted to give up he wouldnt. My husband was very very ill and Dr. Gordon has performed about 25-35 different type of surgeries, from major pancreas surgery to major dressing changes that was so painful that he wouldnt let him suffer, that Dr Gordon would not let him suffer. He is a very personal,caring, knowledgeable surgeon.

I have recommended him to everyone.

Very rude staff , waiting time is always 3 hours plus and when you complain about it they are rude to you. The never can give you an accurate price until after the procedure and then it's ten times the bill they quoted

since my surgery this summer I have been recommending Dr. Gordon to EVERYONE. HE IS FABULOUS!!!! I had a rare and dangerous surgery. He treated me so great. I might not be here today if God hadnt sent him my way. His nurse, Elaine was also the best- sweet sympathetic and always available for me.They knew exactly what to do and exactly how to handle my emotional terrified self and my difficult surgery. I ran into him yesterday and after 6 months he still knew who i was and stopped what he was doing to come talk to me. He is my angel! I just cant say enough about him. He really does treat you like family.
