This was my first visit with this doctor. His staff was not professional. He was not really interested in listening to my complaints. When he would talk he spoke to his computer and mumbled so it felt very impersonable I really didn’t feel I was listened to or helped out in any way. Very disappointed.

Dr. Greenspan has been my doctor for years. He is excellent and very thorough.

I have been going to Dr. Greenspan for several years and can highly recommend him. He is a listener and acts on any physical complaint I have even if it is not the one I came to see him for. He is very quiet but his diagnosis is right on point. You do not need to go to him if you are looking for an outgoing joking doctor but if you are looking for a doctor to listen, diagnose, spend time asking you questions about your malady and referring you to the right doctor then you need to see Dr. Greenspan. I am very distressed that he may be moving soon.

I gave this odd man a nice review in a former post because I personally felt sorry for him!! My first appointment (as well as follow-ups) with him was unlike any doctor's visit I had ever experienced. He was stuttering, stammering, mumbling, couldn't look me in the eye, sweaty hands. I thought he had some nervous condition. I have been back a few times as his office is the closest to my home that also accepts my insurance. I have found two members of his front desk staff to be downright rude (and I am a patient, caring, and friendly individual). His nurse assistant is positively wonderful - I think her name is Rezna (sp?). And when she wasn't there, the other nurse assistant was terrific as well. Wait time has always been good, as well as availability of appointments (which I expect is due to the fact that not many patients return to this practice based on Dr. Greenspan alone).

Dr. Greenspan himself is fine. His staff is awful, in my experience. The doctor gave me a prescription. I called for a refill. His officious receptionist told me I couldn't have one without seeing the doctor. I talked to the doctor and he gave me a refill and told me to schedule a physical after I turned 40. I did. The confirmation call came on a Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in the middle of dinner. It was an automated call. I took off work and showed up for my appointment. The nurse practitioner told me I was not due for a physical. I asked her why I was scheduled for one. She told me the "the front desk" doesn't have access to when patients are due and for what. We are talking about an office that is about 1,000 square feet and half of them don't know what the other half is doing. I left. I called. The officious receptionist (again) confirmed, and acted like I was crazy for thinking she should know anything about scheduling. I told her I would find another doctor and I… needed my records. Her response? "That's fine. That will be 76 cents per copy." I said I'll email my request. She said, "No. We only accept mailed requests." Again, Dr. Greenspan is fine. His staff is terrible.

This entire visit was a letdown. Staff consistently mistook me for "Mr. Hernandez" which is not me. The doctor showed little interests in listening to my questions and seemed to be in a rush to get out of the room. He rarely made eye contact and seemed uncomfortable being around me. When I brought up concerns about my past history, Dr. Greenspan dismissed them (only to later offer these as his own explanations when interpreting lab work). I am a reasonably healthy/lean/fit individual and he told me I was overweight. After exhaustively filling out a patient history, he looked at none of it and proceeded to ask me every question again so he could manually enter it into his software while I watched. After my first round of lab work, a receptionist called me to say I needed additional labs because there were problems/concerns that needed more information. They wouldn't tell me what was "wrong" which stressed me out a little. At a follow up appointment, they told me there was… nothing wrong they just needed an additional sample of blood that wasn't drawn the first time. I didn't appreciate the stress from this disconnect between staff. It took me two-three weeks to get my lab results back. When I did finally receive results it was through the mail in the form of some boiler plate language for descriptions of my physical exam and lab work. I am a veterinarian and treat my own patients/clients so much better than this that it is shocking. I don't know if my experience was atypical but would strongly caution against using Dr. Greenspan if you value bedside manner and perception of your physician's knowledge base.
