Dr. Stephen Randal Griggs, MD

Dr. Griggs graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1967. He completed a Pediatric Internship in 1968 and a Pediatric Residency in 1972 at the Childrens Medical Center in Dallas. He was board certified in Pediatrics in 1973. He served in the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon in 1968 through 1970. Dr. Griggs has been practicing in Pediatrics since 1976. During that time he has served as Chief of Pediatrics at Seton Medical Center from 1976 to 1978. He served as a consultant to Oaks Psychiatric Health Systems and the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Dr. Griggs was an Infection Control Committee Member at Seton Medical Center and Oaks Psychiatric Health System. He serves as a board member of the Independent Pediatrics of Austin. He is a clinical assistant professor at U.T. Medical Branch at Galveston and medical student preceptor. His many professional memberships include the Travis Country Medical Society, Texas Medical …Association, and Texas Pediatric Association. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Griggs is an active member in the Christian Medical Association and serves as an officer in his church, Redeemer Presbyterian. He is an avid runner and enjoys the great outdoors hiking, fishing and backpacking. Dr. Griggs is married and has 3 children, and four grandchildren.
