I am a long-term patient of a major cancer center and had never left a physician in 30 years. I came for closer hormone monitoring. At my first visit he interrupted me and argued a point I never made, visibly pleased with himself, and told me my own account could not be true. He was wrong, but he could not hear me. When I asked what to expect from treatment, he stressed it was the longest message he had ever written a patient, and I felt I was imposing. A symptom I reported was never examined. After labs, I waited nearly two weeks with no guidance, then got a message saying my result "indicates" I was taking more than prescribed, without one question about how I apply the medication. I was told I could not switch providers. In my opinion he is better suited to research than patient care. If you need to be heard, choose someone else. I've never fired a doctor before in my life, and never even dreamed of it frankly.
