Dr. Stephen Cole Holmes

Stephen C. Holmes, DDS
Dr. Stephen C. Holmes was born in New Orleans but spent most of his childhood abroad, as his father worked in Europe and the Middle East.
He graduated from Washington and Lee University, in Lexington, Virginia, in 1988 with a B.A. in French, and a B.S. in Chemistry. After a few years of odd jobs, including a stint in the oil business, he added some Biology courses in Houston and entered Dental School at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After working two years as a general dentist in Houston he moved to New Orleans to study Pediatric Dentistry at LSU School of Dentistry, falling in love with his New Orleans birthplace and his wife-to-be, Shanee, at the same time.
Upon completion of his two year residency he spent four years serving in the U.S. Air Force as a Pediatric Dentist - two of those years in Japan, and two years in England. It was a true honor to be part of the family support network for our troops serving overseas.
After an …honorable discharge, Dr. Holmes and his wife, Shanee, spent some time traveling and working in the south, including one year in Nashville, TN, where their son Miles was born.
Late 2008 Dr. Holmes and his family decided to tackle yet another challenge and move back to New Orleans to start his Pediatric Dental practice. Dr. Holmes is also Part-time Faculty at LSU School of Dentistry in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, and proud to be a new member of The Children's Hospital Cleft and Craniofacial Team. Despite the challenges faced, Dr. Holmes and his family are excited to be back in New Orleans and look forward to being part of the community.
