Dr. Stephen Michael Kavic, MD

Dr. Kavic seems very dismissive to his team members. I do not appreciate this.

Doctors have a lot of patients and little time to spend. I was vey pleased with my visit.

As big of a fraud as they come. Should not be practicing. Run to another doctor.

spends very little time with patients. comes off very arrogant. Seems annoyed when questions are asked.

Most surgeons don't seem to have great bedside manners (I guess because most of their interaction with patients is while they are unconscious). Dr. Kavic is the exception. Very caring, gentle, understanding surgeon who actually *listens* to his patients. I was/am a very complicated patient and he saved my life. He also has an excellent staff. My only criticisms are that, like most doctors, they tend to try and rush through the appointment. I know doctors carry heavy patient loads, but no one wants to feel rushed--like they have to spit out all their concerns/diagnose all the info they receive, in 15 minutes or some kind of timer goes off. (Esp. considering surgeons aren't cheap.) My second criticism is that you see them so rarely after surgery. Again, I know they have heavy patient loads and have to find time to both operate and follow up, but considering a patient's life is *literally* in their hands during surgery, I think they should find some way to spend a little more time with… their patients post-surgery, just once pop their head in just to say "hello, how are you feeling today?" That goes a long way in making a patient feel like they aren't just an assembly-line patient or piece of meat on an operating table.
