Dr. Kern is a native of Portland, Maine.
His Graduation from Tufts Dental School in Boston was followed by a
21 year career in the U.S. Army. He became a Colonel, Clinic Chief,
and Commander, and was the top graduate of a 2 year Advanced
Education in General Dentistry Program. Dr. Kern finished his
military career at Ft. Lewis in 1996 and immediately ventured into
and bought his private practice in Olympia. He became a Master of
the Academy of General Dentistry in 1999 and served as President of
the Thurston-Mason County Dental Society in 2002. After 35 of
dental practice, he still loves his work and takes pride in
producing high quality dentistry. Dr. Kern has been married to his
wife Laura for 30 years. His daughter Amanda is in graduate school
studying geology, and his other daughter Rebecca is busy with her
sons, Christopher and Mike.
Dr. Kern is an avid fisherman, crabber, skier, boater, woodworker,
and gardener. He is active in the Ft. Lewis Chapel and has sung in
…the choir since 1992. Basically, he has more hobbies than
time!
