Dr. Stephen Litvak, MD

I was so lucky to have Dr. Litvak to be my surgeon. He was very gentle, respectful, professional, caring, great mannerism, and all the traits a patient ask for.

He was supposed to have done a hernia repair with a mesh, and said he had done it, but he did not put a mesh and I needed another hernia surgery three years later

I was assigned this guy for surgery. He didn't know what he was doing. How he has been a surgeon for so many years is a mystery to me.

I beware. Of this doctor. He is a butcher. He does surgery. When you don't need it. Dr.stephen lit vac works in the bethpage. Hospital. St Joseph's hospital our friend is nursenurse. They say. He is nown for doing surgery you don't need. He. Calls you at your home. On Sunday nite. Harassing people

God sent us an angel when after being admitted to the hospital, Dr Litvak was the surgeon on call. He explained in plain terms what was going on, and gave us a timeline. His follow up visit the next day was at 10:30 pm (after being in emergency surgery) and gave us a realistic course of events. This doctor really understands patient care, not only having expertise in his area. Highly recommend in every way. He goes above and beyond what you expect.

Excellent doctor and office staff was very caring and pleasant. Definitely would recommend this doctor to others.

I am leaving this post because I want everyone to know what a horrible situation Dr Litvak put my family in! My husband's surgery was scheduled by his office for a hernia. We went through the pre surgical and medical clearance prior days before the surgery which was scheduled by his staff. The night before the scheduled surgery the Dr informs us that he is not doing the surgery because he feels my husband should lose weight!!!!!! My husband lost two days of work for pre surgical testing and medical clearance as well as took weeks off of work to recover from the surgery to then be told it wasn't being done! This was even after my husband a week before suffered from abdominal pain and discomfort due from the hernia which led to the scheduling of the surgery!! I would disregard this as GROSS NEGLIGENT AND SERIOUSLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT THE TRUTH..DO NOT DISREGARD THIS POST!!! GET A SECOND OPINION...!!! DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR!

Doctor Litvack is amazing. I had a difficult procedure done in the office- Doctor Litvack explained everything that he was doing step by step - I was very nervous,but Doctor Litvack put me completely at ease - I highly recommend him.( I even gave his card to my primary care Doctor for referral purposes)
