Dr. Long is a very kind man and a competent physician, I have seen him on and off for years and he is really great

I went to hospital for shots in back for arthritis but afterwards I started having pain down my legs and into my feet which I did not have before the shots. A year later and I still have pain in feet from the shots. I do not recommend them. Chiropractor helped with pain in back better than he did Dr. White is great.

Love dr. Long but hate the fact that they will not let you switch offices even if you move. Hate that I have to find another doctor but that policy is ridiculous and a waste of gas

Dr.Long is an incredible physician that I have been seeing for years! I have never had any particularly terrible experiences like those listed below. In regards to previous comments about timeliness, Dr.Long talking over you, or difficulty with follow up appointments and prescriptions....have you ever been to a doctor's office where your appointment always starts right on time? They are doctors people...being a doctor isn't exactly a mundane, routine type job; every patient is different and has different needs, which may add some time to their appointment and cause a delay. Also, anesthesia and pain-management are complicated medical subjects; Dr.Long and his staff know what they're talking about, which may explain his "talking over you" or brief consultations (not to mention his continual appearance on Richmond Magazine's "Top Docs" list); I've never complained about my childrens' orthodontists or dermatologists only spending 10 minutes with them during a check-up...doctors know the… amount of time patients require. And hello people, the medical world is subject to constant changes in policy and procedure, which may cause new rules regarding procedures and prescriptions. Also, I don't know if any of the negative reviewers realize that pain meds are some of the most commonly abused prescription drugs, so special precautions must be made to ensure that patient refills are actually necessary. I've never had a difficult experience with Dr. Long, and I'm disgusted by the fact that people are so quick to tarnish a man's career and practice due to their inabilities to comprehend common sense facts of life nowadays.

I strongly endorse everything that prior patients have said about Dr. Long and his staff. I have also experienced rudeness,lack of caring, and long wait times. After dealing with Dr. Long for three years I am looking elsewhere for another doctor. I wish I could rate him less than 1 star.

Performed treatment that he was told had not worked in the past. After first round of injections, I decided not to go through another round. I was told that for any other treatment, I needed to see a different physician.

I HAVE BEEN GOING TO SEE DOCTOR STEVEN LONG FOR OVER 10 YEARS. HE IS AN OUTSTANDING DOCTOR AND ALWAYS SHOWS CONCERN AND COMPASSION FOR YOUR PAIN. HIS ENTIRE STAFF ARE PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ALSO CONCERNED FOR YOUR HEALTH. I WOULD - AND HAVE - RECOMMENDED DOCTOR LONG FOR ANYONE WITH PAIN ISSUES.

I feel like the employees aren't qualified enough to actually do a good job. They (the ones I always see or talk to). She acted like she didn't know what to do except make an appointment.... As if my pain didn't matter, and I'd have to stay in pain for 3 wks until I could see Megan. Either the dr's don't care about the patients time, pain, and feelings or the staff doesn't. You are working with chronic pain sufferers. We go through he** to get any kind of relief! Please show some empathy!

My husband has been dealing with pain for five years......had injections, radio frequency...did not help....saw other doctors and wanted to consult with Dr Long and was told we could not see him...had to see his associate, which was the last person we saw but they were adamant that we could not have an appt. With Dr. Long........do they care? Apparently not.

Definitely not a good practice and would not recommend anyone go here. I had been a patient of Commonwealth Pain Specialists for about two years and couldn't have been happier to have my quality of life returned after dealing with moderate chronic back pain and sometimes crippling acute back pulls for five years. I was put on a mild pain prescription and was told to come back on an as needed basis. I would return when my medicine was about out. This past week I went to have my medicine refilled as normal after not having been in, in about 10months. I was told due to a policy change for my type of pain that I would not be receiving my prescription again. I was seen by nurse Brenner who was very rude and treated my horribly. After being on an opiate prescription for close to two years it is very dangerous and detrimental to a patients health to make them stop taking the medication cold turkey. Opiate prescriptions are the most common type of treatment for my typical back pain… even though at this pracitice I was told that I did not qualify and needed to see a primary care physician. I went through four different PCP over the course of three years of agony before I finally found a treatment program that worked for me. This Dr. office has no interest in serving the patient. They serve themselves, their bottom line, and will treat you like a case number not a person. DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE
