Dr. Stephen D Mallary, MD

Very difficult to be proactive with medicines. Will not prescribe new meds unless you are in his office. Even if you have seen him the day before. Becomes hard to adjust treatment if you have to see him weekly. Cost prohibitive.

I don't know why other people said he was rude, he got my prescriptions ready just like I wanted. HE IS NOT A THERAPIST don't confuse the two. You are there to say what's wrong and get meds and that's how it should be If you really need to talk to someone deeply about feelings go to a THERAPIST.

Dr. Mallary really is all business. He tends to get easily irritated when you tell him about what's been ailing you. Whatever it is, you have about 5-10 minutes of talk time before you get his signature "and has there been anything fun or exciting going on in your life lately?" That means he's wrapping up the session and it's time for you to get your prescriptions and leave.

Became upset when he had to fill out paperwork for job. He went on a full rampage about filling out paperwork, even though he was charging $25 a page. He also seems like he may be asking you a question but he is focus seems to be on filling out the prescription and getting you out of there. I felt very insulted, and that was my last day there.

after seeing my dr for 5-6 years, I was referred to Dr Mallory, I had seen a female Dr for years...I was pleasantly surprised, he was caring and very professional. I am very glad to be seeing him.

Just seemed like an uncaring individual that was there to simply collect a check. He would begin writing prescriptions while he was talking to us, I understand multi-tasking, but this was ridiculous. I guess that given that this is for psychiatric care, it would become monotonous, however, when it makes your 11 year old feel uncomfortable and he states, "that man doesn't want to help me," I am choosing to go elsewhere.

I believe that Dr Mallary is a very caring individual ~ which in turn makes him a good psyciatrist. Very professional/

He just acts like every bedside patient is an huge inconvenience to him and does not want to spend any time or allow you to ask questions without being snappy or irritable with his patients. Unacceptable from a person with a Doctorates Degree in his profession. I would suggest ANY Dr. over him. He may be a good Dr. as an Outpatient but for Inpatient he did very poor considering the people he was attempting to "help". You can't act uncaring and like we are just a huge inconvenience to patients who hurt themselves or abused drugs. We are trying to get HELP.
