Why I Like Practicing Medicine in Kaiser Permanente

As a Kaiser Permanente physician, I have unlimited access to other specialists. If I have a question about a patient's ECG, I can call or talk with a cardiologist and get answers right away without the hassle of a pre-approval or worrying about who belongs to what health plan or PPO. I can't think of a better system of integrated health where I concentrate on caring for patients instead of managing a business.

Kaiser Permanente is always working to improve the quality of the care we give whether it is incorporating a new technological advance or a program to improve safety in the operating room. I am proud to be a part of this.

My Professional Interests and Affiliations

I am a member of the local and state medical societies. I am also a member of the California Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

My Personal History

My wife and I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We met there in college …and were married after my first year of medical school. We have three grown sons with interests that vary from the arts to business.

When I am not working, I enjoy vegetable gardening, fishing, exploring the excellent Sierra foothills wineries, and participating in local community theater.
