Dr. Stephen James Mattichak, MD

Excellent caring very knowlegable doctor. Takes time with you and answers any questions you may have. He cares very much for his patients. He deserves MORE than 5 stars for sure.

Dr. Mattichak did 4 categorization and events on my mother over the last 15 months and she was very pleased. He made her feel at ease and she had every confidence in his expertise. Recently she discovered that he is no longer at McClaren in Petoskey but he never told his patient that he was leaving and she and I are disappointed in the lack of communication. She was kinda left hanging there, Doctor.

The doctor was covering for my regular cardiologist. I had an emergency that required a procedure done post haste. He arranged the event on a Sunday and quite possibly saved my life. Very direct and honest. I am thankful for his care.

I've had7 heart caths and 2 caths to check my legs. Had 2 stents put in my heart and 1 put in my leg. Doctor Mattichak did all but 1 of the heart caths and after 10 or so years I wouldn't see anyone e else . Thanks Doc

I've seen many cardiologists in my life. Dr Mattichak is the most competent, patient and informative I've been privileged to be under the care of. He'd done one procedure already and I have 2 more to undergo. I wouldn't let anyone do this except Dr Mattichak. He truly is a great doctor

After waiting for three weeks instead of two for the results of my echogram from an unknown doctor, who by the way had sent the tests to a foreign country, my primary physician who is also on the top of a great doctor list, called Dr Mattichak and got me an appointment for the following day. My two daughters and I were there promptly and were immediately seen by his office nurse, who did her job efficiently and was about as helpful and pleasant as I have ever seen an office nurse. Dr Mattichak came within a few minutes of her leaving the room and all three of us were impressed by his bedside manner and prompt action. He knew exactly what my problem was and took immediate action. I couldn't be more pleased and I praise him and his office staff at every opportunity. He listens with his ears, then uses his heart and his knowledge to the patients best advantage.

Is one of the most compassionate and and easy to understand the explanations of what is wrong and the procedures that will be done for that problem.

Dr. Mattichak is very knowledgeable and spends times discussing issues with patients. It is very reassuring to be under his care. I'm not happy that I had heart issues, but I feel very fortunate that Dr. Mattichak was there to deal with them. He is very easy to talk to.
