This doctor has excellent credentials and a good bedside manner, I saw him in the office twice once for about 10 minutes the other time for about 5 minutes I've been dealing with the situation I'm facing for several years, and the information is in the patient files of the hospital and practice that he is affiliated with, in reading over the notes he submitted about our visits, several details of my case and visit were grossly misrepresented and misstated. I was given a confidential patient survey form from the facility to fill out about my visit, and when I stated the details that I had observed, I received a reply by email that if I wanted to get my patient notes and go to another practice that would be understandable... Several weeks after that email I was sent a certified letter from the doctor stating that they were withdrawing their care for me due to my dissatisfaction... So much for a confidential survey!!! While… I am disappointed with the doctor, I'm also disappointed with the management team of the practice!

Back in 2007 Dr. Melson saved me from having my colon removed. I went to the hospital because I was passing blood and I was taken in for a colonoscopy by some other dr at the hospital. The surgeons up there wanted to remove my colon immediately! Melson stepped in and gave me a proper diagnoses of ulcerative colitis, and I'm still being treated by him almost 15 years later.

Dr. Melson scheduled an endoscopy on my special needs brother who has a lot of disabilities. He was very understanding, very kind and we couldn't have asked for better. He was cautious and did this procedure at the hospital instead of the office. He did a follow up visit that went well and told us in the future if we needed him he would be happy to help us. We really appreciated his bedside manner and his understanding. We don't get that often. I'd recommend him to anyone.

I advised at consult visit had severe allergic asthma and one of those items was ladocaine. Day of colonoscopy, was documented three more times on my chart. Benzocaine was still used even though he was aware of my allergy, coming out of anesthesia, severe laryngical spasms and chest tightened as yet another anaphylactic episode. I was still under anesthesia and he asked me "what do you do in this situation"? Hello, your the doctor! I couldn't speak, anxiety, panic set in., he asked if I wanted to go to ER, you betcha I went.. Then he phoned to ER.. He conveniently forgot I was allergic.. After follow up he still questioned my allergy?? Never again...
