Very [patient with everyone. Explains everything. Good bedside manner, and hes good looking to boot. He knows his stuff. I def recommend.

A wonderful doctor that saved my life! Specializes in bariatric surgery. A great bedside manner. Easy to get an appointment. The staff is totally pleasant and extremely efficient. He will spend as much time is needed to answer all your questions and really takes a great interest in your overall progress and your health and wellness. He provides a very needed service in assisting obese patients with changing their lives for the better. My health has taken a complete turn around for the better since I met and dealt with him. He performed Gastric Sleeve surgery on me and I lost 150 lbs in 18 months and I am no longer considered obese. I cannot thank Mr. Merola enough for all he has done and the support he continues to offer.

I, too, was charmed by Dr. Merola's personality during my initial consult for hernia surgery. The day of my surgery, however, he seemed like a different person - aloof and preoccupied. There were other red flags: the surgical waiting area was dingy, nurses were loudly discussing other patients, the OR itself was old. Sure enough, I wound up with a MRSA infection that it took a year and two more surgeries (not with Dr. Merola!) to eradicate. Dr. Merola didn't seem to want to have much to do with me after my surgery. I rarely saw him. His staff was not helpful. I learned a valuable lesson from that experience: research, research, research...and if at any point something doesn't feel or look right, STOP and go elsewhere.

Do not waste your time with this doctor , all he cares about is making money with tons of lapband / bariatric surgery ,then after the surgery he doesn't care about you ! Find another doctor ! His staff is also nasty that includes Amy his assistant who is crazy .

He saved my life. I was so impressed with the level of compassion he has in dealing with obesity, a subject matter that is usually viewed as disgusting and intolerable. Or so perceived by myself as an obese person. He is a wonderful doctor and my confidence in him was the reason my mother decided to also have the surgery and chose him for her doctor as well. That being said, we traveled 3 hours for each visit, in city traffic no less. Well worth the trips. Good follow up. would suggest him to anyone.

havent had the surgery yet... gall bladder and stones need to be removed, but what a real nice an.. great bedside manner and very thorough.. liked him alot.. lets see if the surgery will be as good!!!
