Dr. Stephen Myers, MD

Today was my first visit and he treated with kindness and took his time with me. I’m 56 years old and have a rare blood disorder. I wish I would have found him years ago!!

At age 39, I was diagnosed with stage 3B lung cancer and a rare Pancoast tumor in my right lung. Of course, I was scared to death!, planning my demise, because I thought this was a death sentence. I was worried about my husband, yes, but mostly my three children aged 11, 10 and 9. Friends and family in the medical field recommended CBC, an hour away, in Louisville, Ky. After several visits for second, third and fourth opinions, I chose Consultants in Blood Disorder & Cancer (CBC) in Louisville, KY and Dr. Stephen Myers for my oncologist. On my first visit, Dr. Myers, with convincing conviction, told me the objective was to CURE my cancer. So, I was all in for that! My treatment plan ended up being 20 chemos at CBC, 33 radiations at Hardin Memorial Hospital's Cancer Care Center in Elizabethtown, KY with the awesome radiation oncologist, Dr. Richard Seither. I had radiation every day for over 6 weeks...Dr. Myers didn't mind if I went to my local hospital for radiation although… their hospital would lose a lot of money. He wanted what was best for me. Whenever I went to CBC, the staff were very efficient and punctual. Minimal waiting time for my chemo treatments--the nurses were sweethearts. People would bring all kinds of goodies. I never had a bad experience there. To me, Dr. Myers was a doctor like on one of those old TV shows. He didn't mind that I recorded our visits because it's hard to remember everything. He never hurried me, was always willing to listen to me and to answer all my questions. He communicated to me on a level I could understand, even spelling medical words so zI could look them up lateral. He has a sweet nature, no air of condescension about him. He is incredibly intelligent but not the least bit arrogant. On one visit, we had 45 minute visit! Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Dr. Steven Myers. The best reason to recommend him is that I am able to write this, I'm not 6 feet under a pile of dirt! Thanks to Dr. Myers' treatment and teaming up with M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital, Houston, and the many, many prayers from coast to coast to the God of Abraham on my behalf ??, I was CURED. Just like Dr. Myers said in our first visit. In 2020, I celebrated 15 years cancer free! I thank and praise my health professionals and my Lord most of all. Very professional and caring. Treats you as he really cares not just " another patient".

Dr Myers is very professional in his approach yet he almost seems like a friend as he seems so concerned about your well being. Under his care he explains everything thoroughly and even though the situation might be very serious he helps you to be upbeat about it. He really seems to be very knowledgeable which is very reassuring.
