Dr. Stephen Nicholas, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon and the founder and director of NY Orthopedics. He is a recognized authority in sports medicine and served as director of the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT), the country’s first hospital-based facility devoted to sports medicine. At NISMAT he has advanced its long-standing programs in research and training in sports medicine and physical therapy.
