Dr. Stephen Muriuki Njagi, MD

My daughter was admitted to Shawnee Mission Medical Center from their emergency room. She was there for 7 days and they were unable to diagnose her. She was in severe pain. An administrator came in to see us claiming that she received a call from my daughters insurance company and that Medicaid might not pay and that she could end up paying the bill. This of course was untrue as my daughter is handicapped. About an hour later, Dr. Njagi showed up in my daughter's room and told me that she would be receiving no further treatment. He abruptly removed all of her pain medications and gave her no prescriptions to take with her. He falsified her discharge papers. I took her to KU where they found that she had a urinary infection. She suffered for 7 days at Shawnee Mission, was given a ridiculous amount of pain medication and then completely neglected when they thought that they might not get paid. This doctor should not have a medical license anywhere in the US. His command of the English… language is very poor. He demonstrated an incredible lack of ethical behavior. I will be filing complaints against him and Shawnee Mission.

I recently had my knee replaced at SMMC this dr was not any part of my surgery team He came in everyday to see me, but all he did was check my heart rate. And said he was glad to see my smiling face. Had I known he was going to charge 225.00 for that , I would not have been so SMILEY. My nursing staff checked my vitals on a reg bases. I did not need this dr to check that for me. This bill will not be paid!!!!!
