Dr. Stephen Joseph Otero, MD

Unfortunately Dr. Otero failed to listen to his patient, my boyfriend, who complained to him about severe headaches. Otero brushed him off over the course of a year always telling him that his headaches were related to an injury in March 2023. Really? When a person who is VERY active becomes one who suffers with excruciating headaches for weeks at a time, wouldn’t that be cause for concern? Wouldn’t you expect your doctor to further investigate verses brushing you off even when you request that he order an MRI or CT Scan? I don’t get Otero’s reasoning behind his negligence. On October 8, 2024 my boyfriend went to see Otero, yet again, for the excruciating headaches. He asked if he could have a CT scan or something to find out why they weren’t going away. Otero brushed him off once again, gave him a shot & prescription for pain, and sent him home to deal with the pain. He refused to LISTEN to his patient and that infuriates me to the core! Two days later we arrive in Colorado Springs… and my boyfriend is taken to emergency at UCHealth Central where a CT scan showed a lime size brain tumor…Glioblastoma BRAIN CANCER! Now here we are on day 22 of Hospice as the love of my life declines daily. Shame on you Steven Otero!!! Shame on YOU for failing to LISTEN! Had you been the doctor my boyfriend trusted you to be, perhaps he could have been treated earlier and had a chance of living a few more years. I hope your patients give it a second thought before trusting your judgement when they see you. Perhaps you should consider switching professions or seriously receiving some sort of “schooling” in the art of LISTENING! Many people urged us to sue you but you know what my boyfriend said in response to this? He said that YOU wouldn’t suffer one bit and that it would be the hospital who would incur the damages and furthermore the community where he has lived his entire life! I have shared my beloved’s experience to ANYONE who cares to listen. I would hate for someone else to be misdiagnosed just because YOU failed to listen. RANT will NEVER be over!

If he wasn't so arrogant and listen to my concerns, symptoms of My overall health as his patient for years and brushing me off that I would have found out then! I have ms!! But his arrogance and lack of knowledge as a doctor wrecked havoc on my life!!!

dr. otero is a calm and gentle professional. he and his staff treat my family with the utmost respect. the care is excellent.

Dr.Otero is a like a summers eve if you catch my drift. Like a warm vinegary cleanse .... That is all. -_-
