Dr. Stephen K Overstreet, MD

That is what Overstreet told me as my husband was still unconscious after the colonoscopy he had just done on him. The most unprofessional statement I have ever heard from any doctor.

Would not recommend this physician to anyone, had a horrible experience. This physician acted as if we were a burden and a waste of his time. No compassion and not helpful. Put his hand in front of my face when I was trying to explain the symptoms and the timeline. I understand he is a busy man and a million things on his mind but when he is in a room with a patient, that is where he should direct his full attention. He needs to understand that every patient is different and if he needs to explain the same thing a couple times to where the patient understands the plan of action than that is what needs to happen to keep the patient informed and happy to come back to him.

Dr. Overstreet tore my esophagus during a procedure. Afterward, when I questioned how that could have happened, he explained that my esophagus was too narrow. That is why I was having the procedure in the first place! I have talked to others since then and they had to go in twice for dilation of the esophagus because their doctor told them they had to do it in phases to avoid tearing. He acted like it was not a big deal and offended that I would even question it. He was less than helpful and responsive during recovery when I had more pain that normal due to the tearing. Will NOT go back to him again NOR would I recommend him to anyone.

Diagnosed my problem when 2 other docs could not.

Excellent doctor, takes the time needed and cares very much about his patients. Would highly recommend him to others.

I have Crohn's Disease. Several aggressive symptoms common to the condition. Staff was generally rude, but if you are super nice to them you get results. Arriving for appointments came with a 30 minute to 1 hour wait before seeing the doctor. The main issue I came in with Abscess and Fistula which had been draining to the outside of my body for over 4 years. Dr. Overstreet never once looked at the exterior exit points of those Abscesses. He put me on medications that had almost zero impact on the problem, including Humira. After 3 months of office visits, tons of medication, and still no closer to surgery to remove these points. Baptist botched tests, and hours of PTO from my job was wasted. It is hard enough living with this disease, it is even harder to see a doctors office for months which does nothing about it. On my final visit I waited an hour to see the doctor to find out they botched my tests, and again instead of doing any surgery, he wanted to schedule more… tests. I walked out. I wasn't rude, but I was done. Now I have to start over with a new specialist. I don't recommend Dr. Overstreet or his office.

Dr. Overstreet was wonderful when I met with him. He was very thorough and I felt that he spent a lot of time with me explaining different things. However, the front office staff were terribly rude and abrasive. They were especially rude when I returned their phone call after they left me a message about my lab results - the staffer seemed annoyed that I was asking about my results. Unfortunately my experience with his staff was so negative that I will likely be switching to a different doctor.

Both Dr.'s are very kind and caring. They listen and address every concern without any rush. The front office staff on the other hand need to learn a thing or two about patience and kindness, especially for individuals who are sick and their worried families.

I think Dr Overstreet is great and so is his staff.
